ﻓَآِٓﻣنُﻮا ِ� � ِ� َوَر ُﺳ ِ ِﻮ� َواﻟﻨ� ِﻮر � ِا�ي �أ َنﺰﻟْﻨَﺎ “So believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Light which We have sent down” (64:8) وَﻣﻦ ﻟ�ﻢ ﯾُ ْﺆِﻣﻦ ِ� � ِ� ور ُﺳ ِ ِﻮ� ﻓَﺎ �� �أﻋ َْﺘ ْﺪَ� ِل ْﻠ َ ﲀِﻓ ِﺮ َ�ﻦ َﺳ ِﻌ ًﲑا َ ْ َ َ � And whoever has not believed in Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers a Blaze (48:13) said, "It is that ﷺ Jibril (as) is reported as saying, "Tell me about ." The Prophet you testify that there is no god but Allah and that is the Messenger of Allah," and he went on to mention the pillars of Islam. Then he asked him about belief and he said, "It is that you believe in Allah, His angels, His Books and His Messengers." (Muslim) ﷺ Obeying the beloved Prophet َ� �آ �ﳞَﺎ � ِا� َ�ﻦ آَٓﻣنُﻮا �آ ِﻃ ُﯿﻌﻮا � َا� َوَر ُﺳ َ ُﻮ� َوَﻻ ﺗَ َﻮﻟ � ْﻮ ا َﻋ ْﻨ ُﻪ َو �أ ﻧ ﱲُ ْ �َ ْﺴ َﻤ ُﻌ َﻮن O you who have believed, obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn from him while you hear [his order]. (8:20) ُﻗ ْﻞ �أ ِﻃ ُﯿﻌﻮا � َا� َو�أ ِﻃ ُﯿﻌﻮا �اﻟﺮ ُﺳ َﻮل Say, "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (24:54) َو �أ ِﻃ ُﯿﻌﻮا � َا� َو �اﻟﺮ ُﺳ َﻮل ﻟَ َﻌﻠ� ُ ْﲂ �ُْﺮ َ ُﲪ َﻮن And obey Allah and the Messenger that you may obtain mercy. (3:132) ﷺ Obeying the beloved Prophet ۖ◌ َوان ﺗُ ِﻄ ُﯿﻌ ُﻮﻩ َ ْﲥ َﺘ ُﺪوا ۚ َوَﻣﺎ �َ َﲆ �اﻟﺮ ُﺳ ِﻮل ا �ﻻ اﻟْ َﺒ َﻼ ُغ اﻟْ ُﻤِﺒ ُﲔ � � And if you obey him, you will be [rightly] guided. And there is not upon the Messenger except the [responsibility for] clear notification. (24:54)

�ﻣﻦ ﯾُ ِﻄﻊِ �اﻟﺮ ُﺳ َﻮل ﻓَ َﻘ ْﺪ �أ َﻃ َﺎع � َ ا� He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah ; (4:80) ﷺ Obeying the beloved Prophet ۚ◌ َوَﻣﺎ آَٓ�ُ ُﰼ �اﻟﺮُﺳ ُﻮل ﻓَ ُ� ُﺬ ُوﻩ َوَﻣﺎ َﳖَ ُ ْﺎﰼ َﻋ ْﻨ ُﻪ ﻓَ َﺎنﳤُﻮا And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from. (59:7)

وَﻣﺎ �أْر َﺳﻠْﻨَﺎ ِﻣﻦ ر ُﺳ ٍﻮل ا �ﻻ ِﻟﯿ َﻄ َﺎع ِ� ْذ ِن � ِ ا� َ � � ُ � And We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allah ﷺ Obeying the beloved Prophet َوَﻣﺎ ﯾَ ِﻨﻄ ُﻖ َﻋ ِﻦ اﻟْ َﻬَﻮ ٰى ا ْن ُﻫﻮ ا �ﻻ و ْ� ﯾُ َﻮ� � َ � َ ٌ ٰ Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. It is not but a revelation revealed, (53:3-4) ﷺ Obeying the beloved Prophet "Whoever obeys me has obeyed Allah. Whoever rebels against me has rebelled against Allah. Whoever obeys my Amir has obeyed me. Whoever rebels against my Amir has disobeyed me." (Muslim and al-Bukhari)

"When I forbid you to do something, avoid it. When I command you to do something, then do it as much as you are able." (Muslim and al-Bukhari)

"My likeness and the likeness of what Allah has sent me with is like a man who comes to a people and says, 'O people, I have seen the army with my own eyes and I am a sincere warner, so save yourselves!' One group of his people obey him and they travel at the beginning of the night, go at their leisure and are saved. Another group reject him and remain where they are and the army arrives in the morning and wipes them out. Such is the likeness of those who obey me and follow what I bring and the likeness of those who rebel against me and deny what I bring." (Al-Bukhari) ﷺ Following the beloved Prophet � ِا� َ�ﻦ ﯾَت� ُبِﻌ َﻮن اﻟﺮ ُﺳ َﻮل اﻟﻨ�ِﱯ ْ �ا� ِّﻣﻲ � ِا�ي َِ ﳚ ُﺪوﻧَ ُﻪ َﻣ ْﻜ ُت ًﻮ� ِﻋ َﻨﺪ ُ ْﱒ ِﰲ اﻟﺘ�ﻮر ِاة و ْاﻻ ِﳒ ِﯿﻞ ﯾَأ� ُﻣﺮ ُﱒ ِ�ﻟْﻤ ْﻌﺮ ِوف و� ْﳯَ ُ ْﺎﱒ َﻋ ِﻦ � � � ْ َ َ � ُ َ ُ َ َ اﻟْﻤ َﻨﻜ ِﺮ و ُ ِﳛ �ﻞ ﻟَﻬُﻢ ا �ﻟﻄ ِﯿﺒ ِﺎت و ُ َﳛ ِﺮُم �َﻠَْ ِﳱﻢ اﻟ ْ َﺨﺒ ِﺎﺋ َﺚ وﯾَﻀَ ُﻊ َﻋ ْﳯُﻢ ا ْ َﴏ ُ ْﱒ و ْ �ا� ْ� َﻼ َل اﻟ�ِﱵ َﰷﻧَ ْﺖ �َﻠَْ ِﳱﻢ ۚ ﻓَ � ِﺎ� َ�ﻦ آَٓﻣنُﻮا ِﺑ ِﻪ ُ َ ُ ّ َ َ ّ ُ َ َ ْ � َ ْ َو َﻋ �ﺰُر ُوﻩ َوﻧَ َ ُﴫ ُوﻩ َواﺗ�َﺒ ُﻌﻮا اﻟﻨ� َﻮر � ِا�ي �أ ِنﺰ َل َﻣ َﻌ ُﻪ ۙ �أوﻟَ�ـ ِﺌ َﻚ ُ ُﱒ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﻔ ِﻠ ُﺤ َﻮن Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful. (7:157) ﷺ Following the beloved Prophet ُﻗ ْﻞ ان ُﻛﻨﱲُ ُ ِﲢﺒ َﻮن � َا� ﻓَﺎﺗ�ِﺒ ُﻌ ِﻮﱐ ُ ْﳛِﺒﺒ ُ ُﲂ � ُ ا� وﯾَ ْﻐ ِﻔﺮ ﻟَ ُ ْﲂ ُذﻧُﻮ� ُ ْﲂ ۗ و � ُا� ﻏَ ُﻔ ﻮ ٌر ر ِﺣ ٌﲓ � ْ � ْ َ ْ َ َ � Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah , then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.“ (3:31)

ﻟ� َﻘ ْﺪ َﰷ َن ﻟَ ُ ْﲂ ِﰲ َر ُﺳ ِﻮل � ِا� �أ ْﺳ َﻮ ٌة َﺣ َﺴ�ﻨَ ٌﺔ ِﻟ ّ َﻤﻦ َﰷ َن �َْﺮ ُﺟﻮ � َا� َواﻟْ َﯿ ْﻮ َم ْا�ٓ ِﺧ َﺮ َ و َذ َﻛ َﺮ � َا� َﻛ ِﺜ ًﲑا There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.(33:21)

"The one who clings to my sunna when the community is corrupt will have the reward of a hundred martyrs." (at-Tabarani) ﷺ Loving the beloved Prophet ُﻗ ْﻞ ان َﰷ َن آَٓ� ُؤُ ْﰼ و�آﺑْﻨَ ُﺎؤُ ْﰼ وا ْﺧﻮانُ ُ ْﲂ و�آ ْزو ُاﺟ ُ ْﲂ و َﻋ ِﺸ َﲑ�ُ ُ ْﲂ و�أ ْﻣﻮ ٌال ْاﻗ َ َﱰْﻓ ُت ﻤ َﻮﻫﺎ وِ َﲡ ﺎرٌة َ ْﲣ َﺸﻮ َن َﻛﺴ َﺎد َﻫﺎ � َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ ُ َ َ ْ َ وَﻣﺴ ِﺎﻛ ُﻦ �َﺮ َﺿﻮَﳖَﺎ �أ َﺣ �ﺐ اﻟَﯿ� ُﲂ ِّﻣ َﻦ � ِا� ور ﺳ ِ ِﻮ� وِ َ� ٍﺎد ِﰲ ﺳِب ِ ِي� ﻓَ َ َﱰﺑ � ُﺼﻮا َﺣ �ﱴ ﯾَأ�ِ َﰐ �ُا� ِﺑأ� ْﻣ ِﺮِﻩ ۗ و � ُا� َﻻ َ َ ْ ْ � ْ َ َ ُ َ َ ٰ َ َْﳞ ِﺪي اﻟْ َﻘ ْﻮ َم اﻟْ َﻔ ِﺎﺳ ِﻘ َﲔ Say, [O Muhammad], "If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your relatives, wealth which you have obtained, commerce wherein you fear decline, and dwellings with which you are pleased are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and jihad in His cause, then wait until Allah executes His command. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.“ (9:24) ﷺ Loving the beloved Prophet اﻟﻨ�ِ �ﱯ �أ ْو َٰﱃ ِ�ﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺆِﻣ ِن َﲔ ِﻣ ْﻦ �أ ُﻧﻔ ِﺴ ْﻬِﻢ The Prophet is closer to the Believers than their own selves (33:6) ﷺ Loving the beloved Prophet

. "None of you will believe until I am more beloved to him than his children, his father and all people." (al-Bukhari, Muslim & an-Nasa'i) . "There are three things which cause anyone who takes refuge in them to experience the sweetness of belief - that Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else; that he loves a man only for Allah; and that he dislikes the thought of reverting to disbelief as much as he would dislike being cast into the Fire." (al-Bukhari & Muslim) I love you more than anything except" ,ﷺ Umar ibn al-Khattab told the Prophet . replied, "None of you will ﷺ my soul which is between my two sides." The Prophet believe until I am dearer to him than his own soul." 'Umar said, "By the One who sent down the Book on you, I love you more than my soul which is between my (said, "'Umar, now you have it!" (al-Bukhariﷺ two sides." The Prophet ﷺ Loving the beloved Prophet

and asked, "When will the Last Hour ﷺ Anas said that a man came to the Prophet . ﷺ come, Messenger of Allah?" , "What have you prepared for it?" he asked? He replied, "I have not prepared a lot of prayer or fasting or charity for it, but I love ".said, "You will be with the one you love ﷺ Allah and His Messenger." The Prophet (al-Bukhari) ,and went to him and said ﷺ Safwan ibn Qudama said, "I emigrated to the Prophet . 'Messenger of Allah, give me your hand.' So he gave me his hand. I said, 'Messenger of Allah, I love you.' He said, 'A man is with the one he loves.'" (at- Tirmidhi and an-Nasa'i) ﷺ Reasons for loving the beloved Prophet

1. Beloved of Allah (swt) honorable name amongst us ﷺ Not taking his . �ﻻ َ ْﲡ َﻌﻠُﻮا دُ�َ َﺎء �اﻟﺮ ُﺳ ِﻮل ﺑَيْنَ ُ ْﲂ َﻛ ُﺪ�َ ِﺎء ﺑَ ْﻌ ِﻀ ُﲂ ﺑ َ ْﻌ ﻀً ﺎ Make not the calling of the messenger among you as your calling one of another. (24:63)

. Not taking his name in the Qur’an

Himself ﷺ Allah swt Responded to charges against the Prophet . َﻣﺎ �أ َﻧﺖ ِﺑ ِﻨ ْﻌ َﻤ ِﺔ َرِﺑّ َﻚ ِﺑ َﻤ ْﺠ ُﻨ ٍﻮن You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman. (68:2) ﷺ Reasons for loving the beloved Prophet

. Mentioned first when taking an oath in the Qur’an: And (remember when) We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you (O Muhammad) and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, son of Mary. We took from them a solemn covenant. (33:7)

. Obedience to the Prophet is tantamount to obedience to Allah swt He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah. (4:80)

. Allah swt Responded to whoever swore allegiance to the beloved Prophet (saw) ا �ن � ِا� َ�ﻦ ﯾُ َﺒ ِﺎﯾ ُﻌﻮﻧَ َﻚ ا َﻧ�ﻤﺎ ﯾُ َﺒ ِﺎﯾ ُﻌ َﻮن � َا� ﯾَ ُﺪ � ِ ا� ﻓَ ْﻮ َق �أﯾْ ِﺪ ِﳞ ْﻢ ۚ ۚ Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, [O Muhammad] - they are actually� pledging� allegiance to Allah . The hand of Allah is over their hands. (48:10) ﷺ Reasons for loving the beloved Prophet

ﷺ Reason 2: Beauty of the Beloved Messenger ﷺ Beauty itself boasts about the beauty of the Messenger The beauty of galaxies is only the dust of your feet O Caravan of the desirous! Walk barefoot towards Madinah The thorns on your way are softer than flowers. ﷺ Reasons for loving the beloved Prophet

My eye has not seen anything as beautiful as you, No woman has ever borne anyone as beautiful as you, Pure from imperfections, as if your features are of your own choosing ﷺ Reasons for loving the beloved Prophet

Reason 3: Grandeur of the Messenger of Allah And great is the grace of Allah unto you. (4:113) “Listen carefully! I do not take any pride that I am the beloved of Allah. The banner of Allah will be in my hands on the Day of Judgment, and beneath it shall be Prophet Adam e and all the Prophets. I shall be the first to intercede, and my intercession shall be the first accepted. I, and the destitute of my nation, shall be the first ones to enter Paradise. I am nearer to Allah swt than the first and the last ones.” ﷺ Reasons for loving the beloved Prophet Reason 4 : Favors of the Messenger of Allah ﻟَ َﻘ ْﺪ َ� َﺎءُ ْﰼ َر ُﺳ ٌﻮل ِّﻣ ْﻦ �أ ُﻧﻔ ِﺴ ُ ْﲂ َﻋ ِﺰ ٌ�ﺰ �َﻠَْﯿ ِﻪ َﻣ ﺎ َﻋ ِﻨ � ْﱲ َﺣ ِﺮ ٌﯾﺺ �َﻠَْﯿ ُﲂ ِ�ﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺆِﻣ ِن َﲔ َرُء ٌوف �ر ِﺣ ٌﲓ There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful. (9:128) ﷺ Signs of love for the beloved Prophet

• Prohibition of wine • Sayyidina Uthman Ghani (ra) • Sayyidina Abdullah ibn Rawaha (ra) • Sayyidina Abdullah ibn Umar (ra) • Maulana Qasim Nanotwi (rah) • Hazrat Gangohi (rah) ﷺ Signs of love for the beloved Prophet

:ﷺ Respect (Adab) for the beloved Prophet .2 ا �� �أرﺳﻠْﻨَ َﺎك َﺷ ِﺎﻫ ًﺪا وُﻣبَ ِّﴩا وﻧَ ِﺬ�ﺮا � ْ َ َ ً َ ً ِﻟّ ُﺘ ْﺆ ِﻣنُﻮا ِ� � ِ� َوَر ُﺳ ِ ِﻮ� َوﺗُ َﻌ ِّﺰُر ُوﻩ َوﺗُ َﻮِﻗ ُّﺮ ُوﻩ َو�ُ َﺴ�ِّﺒ ُﺤ ُﻮﻩ �ُ ْﻜ َﺮًة َو�أ ِﺻ ًﯿﻼ Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner That you [people] may believe in Allah and His Messenger and honor him and respect the Prophet and exalt Allah morning and afternoon. (48:8-9)

• Like birds perched on their heads • Imam Malik (rah)’s sunnah • Sayeed bin Musayyab (rah)’s adab • Abdullah bin Mubarak (rah)’s adab ﷺ Signs of love for the beloved Prophet

3. Not to raise our voice

َ� �آ �ﳞَﺎ � ِا� َ�ﻦ آَٓﻣنُﻮا َﻻ �َْﺮﻓَ ُﻌﻮا �آ ْﺻ َﻮا�َ ُ ْﲂ ﻓَ ْ ﻮ َق َﺻ ْﻮ ِت اﻟﻨ�ِ ِّﱯ َوَﻻ َ ْﲡ ُﻬَﺮوا َُ� ِ� ﻟْ َﻘ ْﻮ ِل َﻛ َﺠ ِﻬْﺮ ﺑَ ْﻌ ِﻀ ُ ْﲂ ِﻟ َﺒ ْﻌ ٍﺾ �أ ن َ ْﲢ َﺒﻂَ �أ ْ َﲻ ُﺎﻟ ُ ْﲂ َو�أ ُ ْﻧﱲ َﻻ �َ ْﺸ ُﻌ ُﺮ َون O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not. (49:2) ﷺ Signs of love for the beloved Prophet

4. To have respect for everything that has relationship with the beloved Prophet (saw) ﷺ Signs of love for the beloved Prophet

5. To have respect and love for the Sahaba Ikram and the Ahl-e-Bayt

"Allah! Allah! My Companions! Do not make them targets after me! Whoever loves them loves them by loving me. Whoever hates them hates them by hating me. Whoever does something hurtful to them does something hurtful to me. Whoever does something hurtful to me does something hurtful to Allah. Whoever does something hurtful to Allah is about to be seized." (at-Tirmidhi)

“Having love for the is a sign of faith and having hatred for the Ansar is a sign of hypocrisy”

"When my Companions are mentioned, hold back." ﷺ Signs of love for the beloved Prophet �ﻣ َﺤ �ﻤ ٌﺪ �ر ُﺳ ُﻮل � ِا� ۚ َو � ِا� َ�ﻦ َﻣ َﻌ ُﻪ �أ ِﺷ �ﺪ ُاء �َ َﲆ ْاﻟ ُﻜ ﻔ� ِﺎر ُر َ َﲪ ُﺎء ﺑَيْ َﳯُ ْﻢ ۖ �َ َﺮ ُ ْاﱒ ُرﻛ� ًﻌﺎ ُ � ﲭ ًﺪا ﯾَبْتَ ُﻐ َﻮن ﻓَ ْﻀ ًﻼ ِّﻣ َﻦ � ِا� َو ِر ْﺿ َﻮ ًا� ۖ ِﺳ�ﳰَ ُ ْﺎﱒ ِﰲ و ُﺟﻮ ِﻫﻬِﻢ ِّﻣ ْﻦ �أ�َ ِﺮ اﻟﺴ ُﺠ ِﻮد ۚ َذ� ِ َ� َﻣثَﻠُﻬُﻢ ِﰲ اﻟﺘ�ﻮر ِاة ۚ وَﻣثَﻠُﻬُﻢ ِﰲ ْاﻻ ِﳒ ِﯿﻞ َﻛ َﺰْرع �آ ْﺧﺮ َج َﺷ ْﻄآ� ُﻩ ﻓَآَٓزر ُﻩ ُ � ْ ْ َ َ ْ � ٍ َ َ ﻓَﺎ ْﺳ� َﺘ ْﻐﻠَﻆَ ﻓَﺎ ْﺳ� َﺘ َﻮ ٰى �َ َ ٰﲆ ُﺳ ِﻮﻗ ِﻪ ﯾُ ْﻌ ِﺠ ُﺐ �اﻟﺰ�ر َاع ِﻟ َﯿ ِﻐﯿﻆَ ِ ِﲠ ُﻢ ْاﻟ ُﻜﻔ� َﺎر ۗ َو�َ َﺪ � ُا� � ِ ا� َ�ﻦ آَٓﻣنُﻮا َ و َ ِﲻﻠُﻮا �اﻟﺼ ِﺎﻟ َ� ِﺎت ِﻣ ْﳯُﻢ �ﻣ ْﻐ ِﻔ َﺮًة َو�أ ْﺟ ًﺮا َﻋ ِﻈﳰًﺎ Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah ; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allah and [His] pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers - so that Allah may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward. (48:29) ﷺ Signs of love for the beloved Prophet ِّﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﻤ ْﺆِﻣ ِن َﲔ ِر َ� ٌﺎل َﺻ َﺪ ُﻗﻮا َﻣﺎ �َ َﺎﻫ ُﺪوا � َا� �َﻠَْﯿ ِﻪ Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah (33:23)

واﻟﺴ ِﺎﺑ ُﻘ َﻮن ْ �ا�وﻟُ َﻮن ِﻣ َﻦ اﻟْ ُﻤ ِﻬَﺎﺟ ِﺮ َ�ﻦ و ْ �ا� َﻧﺼ ِﺎر و � ِ ا� َ�ﻦ اﺗ�ﺒ ُﻌ ُﻮﱒ ِ� ْﺣﺴ ٍﺎن ر ِ َﴈ � ُا� َﻋ ْﳯُﻢ ور ُﺿﻮا َﻋ ْﻨ ُﻪ و�أ�َ �ﺪ ﻟَﻬُﻢ َ � � َ َ َ � َ � ْ َ َ َ ْ َﺟن� ٍﺎت َ ْﲡ ِﺮي َ ْﲢ َﳤَﺎ ْ �ا� ْﳖَ ُﺎر َ� ِ ِﺎ� َ�ﻦ ِﻓﳱَﺎ �أﺑَ ًﺪا ۚ َذ � ِ َ� اﻟْ َﻔ ْﻮ ُز اﻟْ َﻌ ِﻈ ُﲓ

The vanguard (of Islam)- the first of those who forsook (their homes) and of those who gave them aid, and (also) those who follow them in (all) good deeds,- well-pleased is Allah with them, as are they with Him: for them hath He prepared gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: that is the supreme felicity.
