Rival Sons Släpper Nytt Album! 2016-03-02 19:00 CET Rival Sons släpper nytt album! ‘Hollow Bones’ är namnet på Rival Sons nya album som släpps den 10 Juni! Bandet, ledda av vokalisten Jay Buchanan, har hyllats av kritiker och fans världen över. I Sverige fick senaste albumet ”Great Western Valkyrie” 10/10 av Rockbladet, 5/6 av Svenska Dagbladet och 4/5 av Aftonbladet. I USA utsåg Classic Rock Magazine skivan till ett av årets bästa album 2014. Och nu är det äntligen dags för ett nytt album från bandet, inspelad och producerad av 2 x Grammy vinnaren Dave Cobb som säger så här om bandet: “Rival Sons are the best rock ‘n’ roll band on the planet!” Long Beach-bandet har jämförts med storheter många gånger, samtidigt som man har skapat sitt eget sound med fem albums och en EP med sig i gitarrfodralet. Greg Moffitt på BBC beskrev Rival Sons som: ”an electrifying blend of Led Zeppelin, Free, Bad Company, Deep Purple, the Doors and a dozen others” bland annat. Bandets sångare Jay säger såhär om skivan: “Each record we’ve made has been part of a distillation toward revealing the band’s essence. This record, finally is the release of the unapologetic, wild beast that has long lived within the ribs of Rival Sons howling to be freed.” Bandets omslag har alltid varit en viktig del av helheten, Storm Thorgerson ligger tex bakom omslaget till Pressure & Time! Den här gången har man låtit konstnären Martin Wittfooth göra omslaget. Bandets gitarrist Scott Holiday säger såhär "I discovered Martin Wittfooth about half way through making ‘Hollow Bones’. I was immediately drawn into his work. I loved his imagery with animals and felt it was calm and unnerving all at the same time. I also loved the touch of whimsy and beautiful psychedelic overtones he used. First time I saw his work I immediately felt it was right for this album. I won't try to overly interpret the album cover or explain in detail why I believe it works perfectly with the album..but I can safely say I think this just might be my favorite cover of ours yet."     Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.
