Course Description In part two, the exploration of all the most important art movements will continue. Students will learn the basics of drawing and painting and explore the including , Art Nouveau, , , , and . “Gallop” part 1 and part 2 can be taken together or separately.

What will you learn? Students will increase their artistic perceptions as they relate to the historical and cultural contexts of the artists studied. They will compare and contrast various works of art that have similar themes but were created at different time periods. Students will learn to distinguish and describe representational, abstract and nonrepresentational works of art. This class will be a fund approach to art history as students make new friends and build their creativity and self- confidence.

Special Accommodations “Due to continued risk of COVID-19 infection, the Norman Firehouse Art Center will be implementing a mandatory mask policy for faculty and all students enrolling in and attending classes during the fall semester. Disposable masks will be provided for those who forget their masks. The will remain closed to the public. Please use the West entrance, which is the closest to the tennis courts. We ask that you arrive at the door 5 minutes before the class. Hand sanitizer will be provided at the door and temperature checks will be performed before entry.
