Australian Plants Suitable for Tamworth Regional Council Areas Eucalyptus blakelyi Photo Tony Croft Tamworth Group of Australian Plants Society As at July 2007 Eucalyptus blakelyi II TAMWORTH REGIONAL COUNCIL RAINFALL DATA Most of the Tamworth Regional Council area receives an average annual rainfall of 600 to 800mm except for the north- west corner on the Mount Kaputar plateau and the tablelands country from Bendemeer through Woolbrook to Hanging Rock above Nundle which often receives between 800 to 1000mm. Similarly temperatures vary across the region with average annual minimums on the tablelands and nearby areas between 6 and 9 degrees Celsius. A series of frosts are received across the entire region each winter. Average annual maximums are between 18 and 21 degrees on the tablelands, 21 to 24 degrees across most of the region and 24 to 27 degrees in the west of the region. 1. Barraba 2. Biodiversity Summary for NRM Regions Species List What is the summary for and where does it come from? This list has been produced by the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities (SEWPC) for the Natural Resource Management Spatial Information System. The list was produced using the AustralianAustralian Natural Natural Heritage Heritage Assessment Assessment Tool Tool (ANHAT), which analyses data from a range of plant and animal surveys and collections from across Australia to automatically generate a report for each NRM region. Data sources (Appendix 2) include national and state herbaria, museums, state governments, CSIRO, Birds Australia and a range of surveys conducted by or for DEWHA. For each family of plant and animal covered by ANHAT (Appendix 1), this document gives the number of species in the country and how many of them are found in the region. It also identifies species listed as Vulnerable, Critically Endangered, Endangered or Conservation Dependent under the EPBC Act. A biodiversity summary for this region is also available. Lyons Department of Conservation and Land Management, PO Box 51, Wanneroo, Western Australia 6065, Australia Abstract - The southern boundary of the Carnarvon phytogeographic district separates the arid Acacia shrublands from the species rich heaths and woodlands of the Irwin region. This boundary has previously been mapped at a scale of 1 : 250000 using the structure, density and composition of the dominant perennial plant species. One hundred quadrats were established across this boundary to determine if floristic composition correlated with the mapped position of this boundary. Our results suggest that the boundary of the Southwestern Botanical Province should move west and south to exclude the Acacia - Casuarina thicket on red sandplain and the tree heaths south of Shark Bay. In terms of species and family composition the vegetation of these areas is more similar to typical Carnarvon vegetation than to the scrub heaths of the yellow sandplains of the Irwin. Western Pipeline Desktop Assessment
FI Joint-Venture Pty Ltd Yogi - Magnetite Project Yogi Western Pipeline Desktop Assessment April 2020 Executive summary FI Joint Venture (FIJV) proposes to construct and operate a magnetite iron ore project located approximately 250 kilometres (km) east-northeast of Geraldton and 15 km northeast of Yalgoo in the Mid-West, Western Australia (WA). The Yogi Magnetite Mine project (the Proposal) will also require the construction of a magnetite slurry pipeline, a water pipeline from the mine site to Geraldton Port, a return water pipeline, and a gas supply pipeline from the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas (DBNG) Pipeline network. GHD Pty Ltd (GHD) was commissioned by FIJV to undertake a desktop assessment of the western portion of the pipeline development envelope. This desktop assessment will be used to inform the environmental assessment and approvals process. The Pipeline Development Envelope (PDE) encompasses the western portion of the total proposed pipeline area and broadly follows the Mt Magnet Road extending from the Geraldton port eastwards to Pindar. The study area was defined for the desktop assessment based searches and includes a 40 km buffer of the PDE. Database searches identified two federally listed TECs potentially occurring within the study area: Subtropical and Temperate Coastal Saltmarsh, and Eucalypt Woodlands of the Western Australian Wheatbelt (DAWE 2020). The DBCA TEC and PEC database search identified an additional two PECs and/or their buffers occurring within the study area: Plant assemblages of the Moresby Range system and Coastal sands dominated by Acacia rosterllifera, Eucalyptus oraria and Eucalyptus obtusiflora (Geraldton area). No TECs/PECs intersect the PDE.
