Songteksten the Sweet SONGTEKSTEN THE SWEET ACTION (Connolly/Priest/Scott/Tucker) Liar, liar, liar, liar So you think you'll take another piece of me You know you believed it To satisfy your intellectual need Higher, higher, higher, higher Do you want, do you want 'Cause I'm the main man Action, action, action, action And that's why Gonna bring you down Everybody wants a piece of the action 'Cause you've been pushing me Everybody needs a main attraction You've got to recognise my superiority I've got what everybody needs Satisfaction guarantees Liar, liar, liar, liar That everybody wants a piece of the action You know you believed it Higher, higher, higher, higher Do you want, do you want action? 'Cause I'm the main man And that's why Everybody wants, everybody needs Everybody wants a piece of the action Everybody wants, everybody needs Everybody needs a main attraction I've got what everybody needs Everybody wants a piece of the action Satisfaction guarantees Everybody needs a main attraction That everybody wants a piece of the action I've got what everybody needs Satisfaction guarantees Oh, I was suicidal 'cause you was my idol That everybody wants a piece of the action Baby, baby, baby, bring it to your knees Oh, there was a time I would have walked the line But you bled me dry with your insatiable greed BALLROOM BLITZ Oh reaching out for something Are you ready Steve? Uh-huh Touching nothing's all I ever do Andy? Yeah Oh I softly call you over Mick? Okay When you appear there's nothing left of you Alright fellas - let's go! And the man in the back is ready to crack Oh it's been getting so hard As he raises his hands to the sky Living with the things you do to me And the girl in the corner is everyone's mourner Well things are getting so strange She could kill you with a wink of her eye I'd like to tell you everything I see Oh Yeah! It was electric Oh, I see a man in the back as a matter of fact So frantically hectic His eyes were as red as the sun And the band started leaving And the girl in the corner that no one ignores Cause they all stopped breathing Cause she thinks she's the passionate one CHORUS Repeat Oh Yeah! It was like lightning Everybody was frightening Guitar Solo And the music was soothing And they all started grooving Oh Yeah! It was like lightning Everybody was frightening CHORUS And the music was soothing Yeah, Yeah, Yeah-Yeah-Yeah And they all started grooving And the man in the back said everyone attack And it turned into a ballroom blitz CHORUS Repeat And the girl in the corner said boy I want to warn you It'll turn into a ballroom blitz It's it's ballroom blitz Ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz It's it's ballroom blitz It's it's ballroom blitz Yeah, it's ballroom blitz BLOCKBUSTER (Chinn/Chapman) The cops are out, they're running about Aah, aah Don't know if they'll ever be able to Block Buster out You better beware, you better take care He's gotta be caught, he's gotta be taught You better watch out if you've got long black hair 'Cos he's more evil than anyone here ever thought He'll come from behind, you go out of your mind You'd better not go, you'd never know what you'll find Does anyone know the way did we hear someone say We just haven't got a clue - ow! Aah, aah Does anyone know the way, there's got to be a way You look in his eyes, don't be surprised To Block Buster! If you don't know what's going on behind his disguise Nobody knows where Buster goes Does anyone know the way did we hear someone say He'll steal your woman out from under your nose We just haven't got a clue what to do Does anyone know the way, there's got to be a way Does anyone know the way, did we hear someone say To Block Buster! We just haven't got a clue what to do Does anyone know the way, there's got to be a way Aah, aah, aah, aah To Block Buster! Buster, Buster, to Block Buster! Buster, Buster, to Block Buster! THE SWEET DELILAH SWIM CLUB focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years. Sheree, the spunky team captain, desperately BY JESSIE JONES tries to maintain her organized and “perfect” life, and continues to be the group’s leader. Dinah, the wisecracking overachiever, is a career dynamo. NICHOLAS HOPE But her victories in the courtroom are in stark contrast to the frustrations of her personal life. • SOUL ASYLUM Biography by Arthur Levy
SOUL ASYLUM biography by Arthur Levy “It’s a crazy mixed up world out there, Someone’s always got a gun and it’s all about money You live with loneliness, or you live with somebody who’s crazy It’s just a crazy mixed up world …” (“Crazy Mixed Up World”) Chapter 1. Every Cloud Has One Renewed and revitalized, Soul Asylum founders Dave Pirner and Dan Murphy return to rock’s front line with THE SILVER LINING, their first new studio release since 1998’s Candy From a Stranger. That album inadvertently kicked off a seven-year sabbatical for the group, which telescoped into the death of bassist Karl Mueller in June 2005, the other founding member of the triumvirate that has steered Soul Asylum through rock’s white water for the past two decades plus. The re-emergence of the group on THE SILVER LINING is as much a reaffirmation of Soul Asylum’s commitment to the music as it is a dedication to Karl, who worked and played on the album right up until the end. They were joined in the studio by not-so-new heavyweight Minneapolis drummer Michael Bland (who has played with everyone from Paul Westerberg to Prince). The band is now complemented by Tommy Stinson on bass, a member of fellow Twin Cities band the Replacements since age 13, and a pal of Dan’s since he was in high school and Tommy in junior high. Tommy was the only friend that Karl could endorse to replace himself in the band. This hard-driving lineup was introduced for the first time in October 2005, when they played sold-out showcase dates at First Avenue in Minneapolis and the Bowery Ballroom in New York – within three days.

  • Ballroom Blitz Text

  • Konzert: the Sweet „The Show Must Go on – Tour 2021“ Mittwoch, 10
Konzert: The Sweet „The Show must go on – Tour 2021“ Mittwoch, 10.

The revitalised Sweet are back to nuke the quarantine blues.” – Dave Ling - Classic Rock Magazine “You better beware as the Glam titans return with a magnificent slice of hard rock, the first to feature the slick vocals of Paul Manzi. It’s a hook-laden blitz!’ – Rob Evans – Powerplay & Fireworks Magazines Sweet, featuring original guitarist Andy Scott, will release their new single “Set Me Free” on Friday 5th March. The song is taken from the band’s current album “Isolation Boulevard” and can be pre-saved from https://backl.ink/144488190. Isolation Boulevard features all the Sweet’s classic hit singles and was recorded with the new line-up during lockdowns between September and October 2020. It’s a reworking of Sweet’s 1975 album multi- million selling “Desolation Boulevard”. The latest single “Set Me Free” is taken from the album, and although it is one of the most covered songs in the band’s repertoire, this marks the first time Sweet has released it as an official single. Over the years, the song has been covered by many rock artists including Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Steve Stevens (Billy Idol) and Saxon. “Recording an album separately in different locations throws up a myriad of technical problems,” says Andy Scott.
