  • Dobber's 2010-11 Fantasy Guide
DOBBER’S 2010-11 FANTASY GUIDE DOBBERHOCKEY.COM – HOME OF THE TOP 300 FANTASY PLAYERS I think we’re at the point in the fantasy hockey universe where DobberHockey.com is either known in a fantasy league, or the GM’s are sleeping. Besides my column in The Hockey News’ Ultimate Pool Guide, and my contributions to this year’s Score Forecaster (fifth year doing each), I put an ad in McKeen’s. That covers the big three hockey pool magazines and you should have at least one of them as part of your draft prep. The other thing you need, of course, is this Guide right here. It is not only updated throughout the summer, but I also make sure that the features/tidbits found in here are unique. I know what’s in the print mags and I have always tried to set this Guide apart from them. Once again, this is an automatic download – just pick it up in your downloads section. Look for one or two updates in August, then one or two updates between September 1st and 14th. After that, when training camp is in full swing, I will be updating every two or three days right into October. Make sure you download the latest prior to heading into your draft (and don’t ask me on one day if I’ll be updating the next day – I get so many of those that I am unable to answer them all, just download as late as you can). Any updates beyond this original release will be in bold blue.

July 12, 2011 Terenzio in Good Company by Dennis Leary For the last 2 months Halifax Moosehead’s goaltender Anthony Terenzio has been pushing his physical limits with renowned hockey strength and conditioning coach Ben Prentiss. Not only is he being trained by one of the best but when he looks across the room at the Body Tuning Gym in Darien, Connecticut he sees Marty St. Louis, James van Riemsydk, Matt Moulson and Max Pacioretty doing what it takes to get ready for an NHL season. “I’m feeling a lot stronger, it’s great being around those guys everyday, I’ve been doing the hardest workouts of my life,” said an enthusiastic Terenzio. On Tuesday July 12, Terenzio played goal for an ice training session for Max Pacioretty, who is recovering from the infamous Zdeno Chara hit 4 months ago. “It was being filmed by CBC…which was cool. They are going to play it as part of a special piece about him at the start of the season in Montreal. When asked how Pacioretty’s is doing, Terenzio was quick to say, “He looked good, I think he’ll be ready for the start of the season.” If Pacioretty is able to skate out of the tunnel during the Canadiens first regular season game October 6th, in Toronto it would be an incredible story that Terenzio was a part of this summer. On top of helping Pacioretty, Prentiss also received a thank you from Martin St. Louis at the NHL Awards in Las Vegas during St. Louis’ acceptance speech for his second straight Lady Byng award.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 1, AT 7PM DARIEN ICE RINK, DARIEN, CT An exhibition hockey game with NHL, AHL, current and former Division I/III college players, and DYHA alums among others PRESENTING SPONSORS: Dear Hockey Fans and Friends of Obie, I can’t thank you all enough for being here tonight to support the critical and caring work of the Obie Harrington-Howes Foundation. The outpouring of cooperation and support for the inaugural BIG ASSIST, particularly in these trying times, amazed me as we watched sponsors quickly line up and early ticket sales come in. When we first thought about a name for this event we asked ourselves, “What does the Foundation do?” Simply, it helps people who suffer from spinal cord injuries and disease; it assists them. Bingo, there you have it. In my business, ice hockey, an assist is a very important thing. I love assists and, most of the time, a goal is scored because of an assist or two. THE BIG ASSIST is no different. It would not be taking place this evening if it were not for dozens of people helping one another, in a big way, over the last two months. So many people have been involved that I can’t begin to name them all, but a few call outs are a must. First, please join me in thanking all the players here tonight. This is a special group of guys who have volunteered their time and energy to entertain you. They love the game, and they love seeing you here, too. In May, Jamie Tropsa and my dad, Pat Shannon, began working on this event.
