European Editor In mid-May, shortly after the assassination attempt against PopeJohn Paul II, the criminal activities and membership of the Italian Freemasonic Lodge known as Propaganda Due (commonly called P-2) became known to the public, producing a scandal which has not only placed scores of Italian bankers and politicians in jail, but has expanded into an international expose of citizens above suspicion in many nations. More than the future of individuals is involved. The nature of the revelations is such that an enormous strategic-policy fight is at the core of the P-2 affair. Now implicated in connection with P-2's control of international terror ism, drug-running, and worldwide "dirty money" flows are several members of David Rockefeller's Trilateral Commission featuring George Ball, Rock efeller himself, former U.S. ambassador to Italy Richard Gardner, and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. Also implicated-in P-2's crea tion as well as activities-is the current secretary' of state of the United States, Alexander M. Haig. The well-known Rome daily Paese Sera unleashed this latest bombshell June 16, when it documented that Haig as well as Kissinger have collaborated closely with Italian business leaders and military personnel who were prepar ing a coup d'etat in 1969, and whose names all appear on the P-2 membership list. Paese Sera charges that dossiers found in the possession of P-2's fugitive leader Licio GelIi show Haig under the category "friend," and suggest that plans for a coup have been revived with Haig's entry into the U.S. State Department. Reportedly, Haig and the Trilateral Commissioners under Rockefeller are running scared. P-2 linked sources in Rome say that a special commission has secretly formed in America to prevent the scandal from spilling across the Atlantic and into the State Department's offices. It is not yet clear whether former President Gerald Ford, one of only 17 "Blue Cap" Masons in the United States, who is now allegedly heading this coverup commission, has been fully informed by Henry Kissinger of what is actually involved. Secret Societies in Italy: Origins of Propaganda Due about:reader?url=https://www.thegreatcoursesdaily.com/secret-societies-i... thegreatcoursesdaily.com Secret Societies in Italy: Origins of Propaganda Due 9-11 minutes By Richard Spence, Ph.D., University of Idaho Italian politics, after the end of the two world wars, was a very messy spectrum, comprising a number of groups lying on the left or the right, the communists or fascists, or something in between. What was even more fascinating, however, was the presence of secret societies and lodges. One of the better-known ones was the Propaganda Due, or P-2, which had many high-profile names as its members. 1 of 8 2021/05/02, 13:41 Secret Societies in Italy: Origins of Propaganda Due about:reader?url=https://www.thegreatcoursesdaily.com/secret-societies-i... Propaganda Due, or P2, had its roots in masonic lodges, but ran much deeper in reality. It had complex political connections, and was believed to be the secret government of Italy. (Image: Cris Foto/Shutterstock) The Discovery of the P-2 Roster On March 17, 1981, in the Tuscan town of Arezzo, a special anti- corruption force stormed the home of a local mattress manufacturer, Licio Gelli, suspected to have connections to two fugitive bankers: Roberto Calvi and Michele Sindona. Rumored to be members of the secretive Masonic lodge, Propaganda Due, or P-2, Gelli’s papers were expected to hold information about the fugitives. Instead, however, the police found a membership roster for the lodge, consisting of an astounding 962 names. Even more surprising was that the Italian law enforcement agency Guardia di Finanza’s own commander, Orazio Giannini, was also on the list.

Order of the Eastern Star - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 7/22/11 11:40 PM Order of the Eastern Star From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Order of the Eastern Star is a fraternal organization that both men and women can join. It was established in 1850 by Rob Morris, a lawyer and educator from Boston, Massachusetts, who had been an official with the Freemasons. It is based on teachings from the Bible,[1] but is open to people of all theistic beliefs. It has approximately 10,000 chapters in twenty countries and approximately 500,000 members under its General Grand Chapter. Members of the Order are aged 18 and older; men must be Master Masons and women must have specific relationships with Masons. Originally, a woman would have to be the daughter, widow, wife, sister, or mother of a master Mason, but the Order now allows other [2] relatives as well as allowing Job's Daughters, Rainbow Girls, General Grand Chapter logo Members of the Organization of Triangle (NY only) and members of the Constellation of Junior Stars (NY only) to become members when they become of age. It is certain that the people in the occupied cities of Lille, Roubaix, and Tourcoing received less news than before the occupation, and most of the news they did receive came from an untrusted source, namely the German occupiers. However, research for this dissertation reveals that the cities at the urban heart of northern France, Lille, Roubaix, and Tourcoing, received more news than historians previously have believed. Research for this dissertation comprised of reviewing all the sources available in Lille, Roubaix, and Tourcong during the occupation, which included German-controlled newspapers produced in France and Belgium, a short-lived clandestine press, and newspapers published outside the occupied zone covertly imported into the cities.

P2 came to public light with the exposure of Michele Sindona and the Banco Ambrosiano scandal, in which the Vatican Bank had many shares. P2 has been involved in Gladio's strategy of tension - Gladio was/is the name of the secret "stay-behind" NATO paramilitary organizations. Between 1965 and 1981, it tried to condition the Italian political process through the penetration of persons of confidence to the inside of the magistracy, the Parliament, the army and the press. E-mail: [email protected] Fecha de recibido: 12 de abril de 2015 - Fecha de aceptación: 28 de abril de 2015 Given the great degree of interest in Freemasonry (and secret societies generally) in recent years, thanks to publications such as The Da Vinci Code and Hollywood productions like National Treasure, other works that go beyond fiction must be brought to light. Although it may be entertaining to have a corpus of books with the purpose of fictionalizing Freemasonry, it is necessary to study it from another perspective. In recent decades, scholars from Spain, France, and other parts of continental Europe, as well as some in Latin America, have focused their research on the study of Freemasonry. However, in the United States (the country that produces most of the scholarly publications in the so-called Western world), very few academic publications on the subject of Freemasonry have appeared. Thus, it is extremely refreshing to find a text published in the U.S. that deals with this topic in a very creative and serious way. I applaud the University of Chicago Press for publishing The Brotherhood of Freemason Sisters: Gender, Secrecy, and Fraternity in Italian Masonic Lodges by Lilith Mahmud, who teaches women’s studies and anthropology at the University of California, Irvine.
