Anthony Beeson 2021 sees CollectA enter its fifteenth of existence in producing models of Prehistoric fauna and flora. It continues in its mission to both educate and to provide the greatest amount of creative play with the accuracy of its models. Matthias Geiger 2020 proved to be a sad year for most of the world as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Any company depends on, and Matthias is a German sculptor with a great passion should be protective of its workforce. CollectA has done its utmost for Dinosaurs. In collaboration with Anthony Beeson, to ensure the safety of its people with stringent measures. The he brings life to CollectA's vision of prehistoric factory was closed for some weeks and professionally cleaned . several times. Screens were erected between work-stations and an isolation hostel was established where workers returning from other parts of China could be quarantined for 14 days before re-joining their colleagues. Notwithstanding the disruption in production, this year, in close collaboration with my colleague the sculptor Matthias Geiger, we have produced another varied selection of animals for CollectA’s prehistoric animals series. In CollectA’s Popular series we offer a model of the recently discovered Late Japanese hadrosaur Kamuysaurus and a new model of the first dinosaur ever to be named, the British Mid- theropod Megalosaurus – in ambush, to replace the existing one. Another replacement is a new idea of the British Early-Cretaceous theropod Neovenator, depicted as scenting prey. In 2012 Collecta was the first company to introduce an innovative series entitled Dinosaur Prey and this year we add a figure of a dead Brontosaurus to the collection. The Japanese Late Cretaceous ammonite Pravitoceras joins CollectA’s Prehistoric Sea Creatures range. Other Late Cretaceous sea creatures include, in the Popular range, North America’s Elasmosaurus and, at our collectors’ requests, a Deluxe model of the giant predatory fish Xiphactinus which we hope will find favour. A new model of America’s Early Jurassic theropod Dilophosaurus, incorporating recent palaeontological research, joins the Deluxe range as does an impressive version of China’s huge Late Jurassic sauropod Mamenchisaurus. The Late Cretaceous North American pterosaur Pteranodon joins CollectA’s Supreme range for 2021. It has an articulated jaw. The Prehistoric Animals range is joined by the South American, heavily armoured , Doedicurus that lived during the and periods. A new CollectA Box of miniature dinosaurs joins the existing range and a second series of the CollectA AR has been produced. Finally, for the first time CollectA has designed a Prehistoric Advent calendar. Wishing you all a safe, happy and educational year of play and collecting.
