DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF CHIPPEWA COUNTY MAY 6, 2011 NEWSLETTER Week of April 25 Dear Friends, This week, I announced I'm running to represent Wisconsin's 7th District in Congress! As you can guess, this wasn't an easy decision, but I began to think about running when I realized the new Republican majority had no interest in keeping its promise to focus on job creation and economic recovery back home. The last straw for me was Congressman Duffy's vote for the Republican budget that ends Medicare and shoves seniors back into the health insurance shark tank – but gives millionaires and billionaires another tax cut. The national media are already taking notice of our campaign so we have to make a bold statement that we have what it takes to defeat Duffy and the Republican attack machine. We’ve set an aggressive goal of raising contributions from 100 grassroots supporters this week to show that we’ve got the momentum to win this race. Will you be one of the first 100 contributors to our campaign? This is no time for a congressman to be so severely disconnected from what northwest Wisconsin needs from our representative. Just as my former State Senate colleagues took the lead in standing up to the anti-worker agenda of Scott Walker in Madison, I'm ready to fight on the Washington front to turn back this new war on the middle class. Will you join me in this fight for the middle class? A contribution of $250, $100, $50, or whatever you can afford today will help us get started and show everyone this is a fight we can win. Kreitlow made the announcement at our annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner at the Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls. The dinner crowd erupted in thunderous applause at the news. Moments later, State Senator Jon Erpenbach, featured speaker for the evening, quipped as he came to the stage, "Congressman Kreitlow. Doesn't that sound great! I know someone who's going to be a Congressman!" The exploratory committee will allow Kreitlow to begin raising funds for a race that is expected to cost in the millions.     Summer 2021 | Commemorative Program Welcome The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Leadership Foundation and the National Association of Broadcasters welcome you to the 2021 Celebration of Service to America Awards. Every day, local radio and television stations provide a critical public service by delivering essential news, weather and entertainment their communities rely on every day, as well as a lifeline during times of crisis. When the mics and cameras turn off, these stations continue their good work through charitable efforts and service to their communities. This year was no exception as our finalists devoted 3,528 hours of airtime to public service and addressed the unique challenges of COVID-19 within their communities. In total, more than $43,440,000 worth of funds and donations were raised to support local charities across the country to help fight hunger, fill gaps in education and provide support to local businesses and charities. The importance and impact of broadcasting has never been greater. While we cannot celebrate in person this year, we are thankful for the support of our broadcasting community and Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution as we recognize the work and share the stories of our fellow broadcasters. We are honored that the 23rd annual Celebration of Service to America Awards will once again be broadcast across the country by local radio and television stations as a special one-hour awards ceremony featuring celebrity guests, past honorees and policymakers beginning July 10 through August 14. Emmy award-winning host Tamron Hall and other celebrity guests will honor local radio and television stations and community leaders like Lin-Manuel Miranda for their unwavering commitment to the communities they serve.
