DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF CHIPPEWA COUNTY MAY 6, 2011 NEWSLETTER Week of April 25 Dear Friends, This week, I announced I'm running to represent Wisconsin's 7th District in Congress! As you can guess, this wasn't an easy decision, but I began to think about running when I realized the new Republican majority had no interest in keeping its promise to focus on job creation and economic recovery back home. The last straw for me was Congressman Duffy's vote for the Republican budget that ends Medicare and shoves seniors back into the health insurance shark tank – but gives millionaires and billionaires another tax cut. The national media are already taking notice of our campaign so we have to make a bold statement that we have what it takes to defeat Duffy and the Republican attack machine. We’ve set an aggressive goal of raising contributions from 100 grassroots supporters this week to show that we’ve got the momentum to win this race. Will you be one of the first 100 contributors to our campaign? This is no time for a congressman to be so severely disconnected from what northwest Wisconsin needs from our representative. Just as my former State Senate colleagues took the lead in standing up to the anti-worker agenda of Scott Walker in Madison, I'm ready to fight on the Washington front to turn back this new war on the middle class. Will you join me in this fight for the middle class? A contribution of $250, $100, $50, or whatever you can afford today will help us get started and show everyone this is a fight we can win. I know that with your early support, we will be able to lay the groundwork for a winning fight on behalf of the middle class. Thank you in advance for your support. Pat Kreitlow ! PAGE 1 DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF CHIPPEWA COUNTY MAY 6, 2011 Here is how we heard about Pat Kreitlow’s 7th Congressional Seat Announcement: Apirl 10, 2011 Jefferson Jackson Day Dinner “Pat Kreitlow announced tonight that he will form an exploratory committee to become a candidate for the 7th Congressional District seat currently held by Republican Sean Duffy. Kreitlow made the announcement at our annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner at the Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls. The dinner crowd erupted in thunderous applause at the news. Moments later, State Senator Jon Erpenbach, featured speaker for the evening, quipped as he came to the stage, "Congressman Kreitlow. Doesn't that sound great! I know someone who's going to be a Congressman!" The exploratory committee will allow Kreitlow to begin raising funds for a race that is expected to cost in the millions. It is the need to raise these funds that prompted Pat Kreitlow to announce his entry into the race a full 19 months before the election.” Our Regular Monthly Meeting Calendar of Events is May 12, 20ll May 12, 2011 at the Regular Monthly Meeting Heyde Center for the Arts May 21, 2011 (Main Floor) FightingBobFest North at 6:30 p.m. June 3 and 4, 2011 Democratic Party of Wisconsin State Convention - Milwaukee June 9, 2011 Join Us On Facebook Regular Monthly Meeting July 12, 2011 Executive Committee Recall Electiions of the Democratic Party of Chippewa County July 13 - 17, 2011 Al Holle - Chair Northern Wisconsin State Fair Carol Gehl and Todd Meyers - Vice Chairs Teresa Anderson - Secretary July 14, 2011 Denise Haughian - Treasurer Regular Monthly Meeting Democratic Party of Chippewa County Website: www.chippewademocrats.com August 11, 2011 Email [email protected] Regular Monthly Meeting For more information contact: Al Holle, Chair August 12-14 1418 Dover Street Pure Water Days Chippewa Falls, WI 54729 715-723-3599 !
