INTRODUCTION – APPROVAL OF AGENDA The sixteenth meeting of the GEBCO Sub-Committee on Undersea Feature Names (SCUFN) met at the International Hydrographic Bureau, Monaco, under the Chairmanship of Dr. Robert L. FISHER, Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), USA. Attendees were welcomed by Capt. Hugo GORZIGLIA, IHB Director. He mentioned that the IHB had invited IHO Member States to make experts available to SCUFN and was pleased to see new faces at this meeting. The meeting welcomed Dr. Hans-Werner SCHENKE (AWI, Germany), Mr. Kunikazu NISHIZAWA (Japan Hydrographic Department), Mrs. Lisa A. TAYLOR (NGDC, USA), Captain Vadim SOBOLEV (HDNO, Russian Federation) and Mr Norman CHERKIS (USA) as new members of SCUFN. The list of participants is in Annex 1. The draft agenda was approved without changes (see Annex 2). Mr. Desmond P.D. SCOTT kindly accepted to serve as Rapporteur for the meeting. 2. MATTERS REMAINING FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS 2.1 From SCUFN-XIII (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada, June 1999) Ref: Doc. IOC-IHO/GEBCO SCUFN-XIII/3 2.1.1 Southwest Pacific region The following four features and names in this area, still pending, were reviewed: • Paragraph 3.1.5 - Proposed names for two seamounts located at (18°56’S – 169°27’W) and (19°31’S – 167°36’W) were still awaited from Dr Robin FALCONER, NIWA, New Zealand. -

The first three volume indexes were produced on typewriters, though subsequent issues were produced by computers, and happily digital files had been preserved for these apart from one section of one index. It has therefore been necessary to create digital versions of 3 original indexes using “Optical Character Recognition” (OCR), which has not proved easy due to the relatively poor print, and extremely small text (font) size, of some of the indexes in particular. Thus the OCR results have required extensive proof-reading. Very fortunately, a team of volunteers to assist in the project was recruited from the membership of the Society, and grateful thanks are undoubtedly due to the major players in this exercise – Paul Burkhalter, John Hill, John Hutchings, Frank Jux, John Maddox and Robin Simmonds – with a special thankyou to Russell Wear, current Editor of "IL" and Chairman of the Society, who has both helped and given encouragement to the project in a myraid of different ways. None of this would have been possible but for the efforts of those who compiled the original individual indexes – Frank Jux, Ian Lloyd, (the late) James Lowe, John Scotford, and John Wood – and to the volume index print preparers such as Roger Hateley, who set a new level of presentation which is standing the test of time. -

Private Owner Wagons Index
PRIVATE OWNER WAGONS & TANKERS INDEX [MAINLY PRE – 1948] COMPILED BY JOE GREAVES This index alphabetically lists references in books to private owner railway wagons and tankers by company name. Each company is listed by an abbreviation of the book’s author and its page number. Coal Merchants who ran wagons are also included. Most of the references include either a photograph or drawing of the wagon. It is not intended to be a comprehensive list of every private owner wagon built, merely of those that have appeared in books since 1969. Where there is only a description of the wagon or notes about the owner, but no photo or drawing, the reference has * next to it. Some of these [IP1/147* & JA/184* particularly] are as little as just a name with no location or any other details. Locations of the companies are included unless it is obvious from the name on the wagon. If there is no location listed, particularly with the Welsh wagons, the name is the location (please check with an atlas). In Bill Hudson’s first two books (BH1 & BH2), his index lists wagons by plate (ie photo) number rather than page. In this index, they are by page number. Wagons shown in the prefaces are listed by Roman numerals, eg BH2/vi. For his third & fourth volumes (BH3 & BH4), there are no page numbers so the references are to plates not pages. Richard Tourret’s books are listed as RT, then RT2. There is no ‘RT1’. Entries are usually by surname or place, for example ‘City of Nottingham’ is under ‘N’ not ‘C’ (but North, South, East or West are under N, S, E or W.) If there is likely to be any uncertainty, the name may be listed twice, eg, Griffith Thomas is under ‘G’ and ‘T’. -

COVID-19 Weekly Surveillance Tracker 22nd September 2021 Summary • The rate of new cases in Wigan is lower than the previous week. • Wigan has the fifth highest rate of new cases in Greater Manchester for the latest complete week (11th-17th September). Wigan currently has the 6th highest total rate in GM. • Wigan is currently ranked 133rd in England. • Wigan is classed as Red for new cases. The outbreak management surge plan has been updated and activated. • The over-60s weekly incidence rate for Wigan is the highest of the 10 Greater Manchester areas. • Wigan is similar to the Greater Manchester average and lower than the North West average for rate of new cases in the latest 7 days. • As at 21st September, there were 19 COVID-positive patients in Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh hospitals. • There have been 2 COVID–19 related deaths registered in Wigan so far in the latest week th (w/e 10 September). Weekly Cases and Rates COVID-19 cases are identified by taking specimens from people and sending them to laboratories around the UK to be tested. If the test is positive, this is a referred to as a lab-confirmed case. Pillar 1 refers to tests that have been carried out in labs run by Public Health England or the NHS (usually for inpatients and frontline workers in the NHS), Pillar 2 refers to tests delivered by commercial partners (usually for the general public). Both Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 results are published. Weekly counts show the total number of events that were reported in the latest seven-day period for which data are considered complete, and the rates per 100,000 population are based on these figures (and the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics).
