Linear algebra is the study of vector spaces and the linear maps between them. It underlies much of modern mathematics and is widely used in applications. A (Terse) Introduction to Linear Algebra is a concise presentation of the core material of the subjectâ”those elements of linear algebra that every mathematician, and everyone who uses mathematics, should know. It goes from the notion of a finite-dimensional vector space to the canonical forms of linear operators and their matrices, and covers along the way such key topics as: systems of linear equations, linear operators and matrices, determ Linear Algebra Demystified. Linear All but two of the papers in this collection were originally presented at a symposium entitled 'Geomorphology and Global Environmental Change' (note the absence of any reference to Human Activity) as part of the Fourth International Conference of Geomorphologists, held in Bologna in August 1997. Many are of a very high standard and touch on important themes providing pointers to the future of geomorphological studies, such as changing sensitivity of response to climate change with variation in spatial and temporal scales of investigation (IgI et al., Menounos, Evans) or sensitivity of geomorphological response to changes in human activity which may in themselves be reactions to climate change (Sayago. and Toledo, Ferreira, Jackson et al.). Geomorphology is the scientific study of the origin and evolution of topographic and bathymetric features created by physical, chemical or biological processes operating at or near the Earth's surface. Geomorphologists seek to understand why landscapes look the way they do, to understand landform history and dynamics and to predict changes through a combination of field observations, physical experiments and numerical modeling. Examining the notion of "empowerment" theoretically, this text looks in detail at how we think and interact with people with learning disabilities, emphasizing the importance of the voice of those people being heard. It discusses the building of mechanisms of power at the policy and service levels on the basis of the choices, wishes, needs, and desires of learning-disabled people in their everyday lives. BT’s Sustainability Report 2007 About the report We have reported on our social and environmental impacts for a number of years, but this is our first Sustainability Report. We decided to rename the report to reflect our sharpening focus on the economic implications of sustainable development. Our 2007 report includes: • Our social, economic and environmental performance from 1 April 2006 – 31 March 2007. This information is audited by LRQA, as indicated by the LRQA logo: • Our Regulatory Compliance Report, including the second report from the Equality of Access Board. This report is audited by PwC. • An independently written “hot topic”, which this year is written by the independent think tank RAND Europe and explores responsibility in the digital age. We have also produced a short printed report, our Sustainability – Business Overview to explain our approach to social, economic and environmental issues in the context of our business strategy and summarise our sustainability performance. Explore our report section by section, or using the GRI indicators and UN Global Compact principles.
