This is George Harrison from the Beatles!" "When you drive on Penny Lane … street anywhere in the world!" "Beatles tourism in itself in isolation is valued … per year to the City!" "Tourism didn't really exist in Liverpool … to the Beatles they could see!" Welcome to Liverpool folks!" O-Ton Ross Grant nur im Hintergrund "It’s the Magical Mystery Tour. My name is Ross. And I am going to be your driver and guide for the next two hours. And we go out to the suburbs of the City …" Sprecher: Schon die Busse sind Programm: Regenbogenfarben, grelle Lackierung, flotte Sprüche aus dem unerschöpflichen Textrepertoire der Fab Four: Musik Beatles "Ticket to ride" O-Ton Ross Grant nur im Hintergrund "We are going to Beatles early life till they had to leave to London before eventually capturing the world. Ok, we are looking the bad places, the schools and collages where they went to … where they met too." Sprecher: Tourguide Ross Grant verspricht, nahezu alle wichtigen Beatles-Orte in Liverpool abzuklappern. O-Ton Ross Grant nur im Hintergrund "And then we will stop at the places you want to see: Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields … Musik Beatles MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR … Atmo Bus" Musik Beatles "Magical Mystery Tour" 3 Sprecher: Die Magical Mystery Tour beginnt im Albert Dock, dem restaurierten historischen Hafen Liverpools. Neben Fahrer Ross sitzt Joey Lyons. Beim ersten Stopp, vier über zwei Meter hohe Bronzestatuen, legt Joey los: Musikakzent Beatles "Happiness is a warm gun" O-Ton Joey Lyons "We’re now at the Pier Head in Liverpool …of state as a symbol of peace." Wegen seines starken Akzentes ist er mitunter kaum zu verstehen: Musik George Harrison "Within without" O-Ton Joey Lyons "The belt of George Harrison, Indian writing, because that’s the philosophy, George Harrison had." O-Ton Joey Lyons "And if you come round to … Der schlanke Mittdreißiger präsentiert uns stolz seine Erfolgzahlen im Stil eines Wirtschaftsprüfers: O-Ton Joe Keggin "Tourism is a very important industry … bringing here." O-Ton Joe Keggin T-18-0:20 "Particularly internationally the Beatles is … different proposition indeed." Ross lächelt schelmisch zu uns rüber: O-Ton Ross Grant "When the Beatles released … a painted sign." In this song … growing up in Liverpool."

Released October 5, 1962, it reached #17 on the British charts. Principally written by Paul McCartney in 1958 and 1959. Recorded with three different drummers: Pete Best (June 6, 1962, EMI), Ringo Starr (September 4, 1962), and Andy White (September 11, 1962 with Ringo playing tambourine). The 45 rpm single lists the songwriters as Lennon-McCartney. One of several Beatles songs Paul McCartney owns with Yoko Ono. Starting with the songs recorded for their debut album on February 11, 1963, Lennon and McCartney’s output was attached to their Northern Songs publishing company. Because their first single was released before John and Paul had contracted with a music publisher, EMI assigned it to their own, a company called Ardmore and Beechwood, which took the two songs “Love Me Do” and “P.S. I Love You.” Decades later McCartney and Ono were able to purchase the songs for their respective companies, MPL Communications and Lenono Music. Fun fact: John Lennon shoplifted the harmonica he played on the song from a shop in Holland.
