Annual Sports Meet: a Brief Review ANNUAL SPORTS MEET: A BRIEF REVIEW SPORTS FACILITIES OF DTSKSM The Mahavidyalaya is the centre for games, sports, recreational activities. We have big multipurpose playground for Race, Discus Throw, Shot Put, Javelin Throw, Cricket, Football, Tennis, Volleyball and Basketball. Similarly we have a small multipurpose playground for High Jump, Long Jump and Kabadi. Modern Indoor facilities are available for Table Tennis, Chess and Carom. VISION: To access sports as a fundamental right to all. To promote health and fitness among the students. To bring out talented sports persons. To develop relationship within students, teachers and non-teaching Staff through sports. To enhance quality of sports performance. ANNUAL SPORTS MEET: Our Mahavidyalaya arranges for ‘Annual Sports Meet’ once every year. This meet usually occurs during winter. Every year majority of the students and the staff members participated in various events with great enthusiasm. This year was the thirteenth annual sports meet organized by the Sports Committee of the Mahavidyalaya. As per schedule, the thirteenth annual sports started with a welcoming note from the honourable guest Shreyashi Das Chowdhury, national judge of rhythmic gymnastics, yoga & aerobics trainer followed by inauguration by our honourable Principal Dr. Rupa Dasgupta. After her inaugural speech followed by lighting the lamp, flag hoisting, singing of National Anthem and oath taking by the students, the events started. The awards were handed over by our Principal, Sports Committee’s Convener, TCS, Teachers and Non Teaching Staff. In totality, the thirteenth Annual Sports Meet of our Mahavidyalaya turned out to be a memorable one. In 2020, our college was selected to host District Level Government Sports Meet by the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal. Inter College State Sports & Games Championship, 2019-20 District Level Competition, Paschim Medinipur under the auspices of Education Directorate, Govt. of West Bengal was organized by our college during 27th January to 4th February, 2020.
