Payment of Fees: Timings

Morning Section 8 A.M. – 10 A.M. Fees are received at the College Cash Day Section 11 A.M. – 2 P.M. Counter on all working days or as per 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. (Saturday) notice. Evening Section 3 P.M. – 4:30 P.M.

Concessions:

 Concessions for tuition fees are granted for economically weak and meritorious students. Once obtained, the renewal of concession for a student for the subsequent years will depend on his/ her performance, regular class attendance and conduct. Plucked candidates will not be further considered for a concession.  Scholarships and Govt. stipends cannot be enjoyed simultaneously with the concession.  Hons. students in Comp. Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology and those in B.C.A., and B.P.Ed. are not eligible for concessions in tuition fees.

Scholarships:

Apart from Govt. scholarships and stipends, our college gives away several small scholarships offered by individuals. Further information in this regard can be obtained from the college office or from departments. Students are advised to keep track of several Govt. Scholarship Schemes like ‘Kanyashree’ for girl students and ‘Inspire SHE’ for meritorious students etc.

Withdrawal Certificate:

Withdrawal certificates, for the students who want to withdraw their admission, can be obtained on payment of a fee of Rs. 200 and all arrears of tuition and other fees. The certificate may be issued after three working days from the date of application.

Important Information:

 A student in General Course will have to take 3 elective subjects with compulsory English, Bengali and Environmental Studies.  A student in Honours Course will have to take 2 elective subjects in addition to Hons. subject with compulsory English, Bengali and Environmental Studies.  A student will not be allowed to take more than one language as elective subject in B.A. course.  A candidate who appeared at the H.S. examination (or equivalent) but could not obtain pass marks in that subject will not be allowed to take up that subject in the Degree course.  Students who have not passed in Mathematics at the H.S. examination (or equivalent) will not be eligible to apply for Economics, Physics, Chemistry, Comp. Science, B.C.A.  For B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Hons. & Gen.) curriculum, the new syllabus of Vidyasagar University for new 3-tier system would be followed.

Important Notification:

 Change of Subject/ Course – Under some special circumstances, change of a subject may be allowed within one month from the date of admission on payment of requisite fee. Such change would be guided by the prescribed rule of Vidyasagar University.  For Non-traditional Subjects (Microbiology, Biotechnology, Computer Science and BCA): Students are not allowed to change their honours subjects once admitted.  The names of the students, who fail to attend 50% of the total classes held within first 15 working days, will be deleted from the admission register.  Students must attend at least 75% of the lectures held in each academic session else the permission to appear in the final Univ. exam would not be granted.  Casual students may be enrolled on payment of a requisite enrolment fee of Rs. 100 and other necessary fees as prescribed by the college.  For Internal assessment, 10 marks for each paper are allotted (90 marks for final Univ. exam.). For each Hons. paper (Theory), two class tests and for each Gen paper (Theory) one class test will be conducted.

 It is compulsory for the first year students to attend at least 50% of the lectures held before the first internal assessment.  The performance of a student in Hons. subject would be judged at the end of 1st year on the basis of internal class tests taken in this period and attendance. In case of unsatisfactory performance, he/she may be warned and dropped.

As per the order of Honb’le Supreme Court of India and the guide lines by UGC, our College has adopted zero tolerance for ragging or any kind of campus violence and sexual harassment for women.

Who Can Apply? Anyone who has qualified H.S. (or equivalent exam.) in second division can apply. No cut off marks applied. How to Apply? The admission forms have to be filled on line.  Monthly Income Certificate of parents from the competent authority (for example, Class-I gazette officer/ employer) for Students seeking Concession/free studentship.  In case of break of study for a period not exceeding 2 years since the last exam passed and the date of admission, a certificate has to be produced from a respected person stating that the student was not

admitted to any other Institution in the intervening period and that his/ her moral conduct was satisfactory.

Admission to Boys’ Hostel: The college provides limited accommodation at Boys’ Hostel inside college campus. Students intending to stay at the hostel should apply separately in the prescribed form to be obtained from Office at the time of admission.
