There’s death in that pot.

On a cool spring evening in 1999, right here in Kansas City at the Kemper Arena, Vince McMahon’s circus, then known as the WWF, was visited by Death. Live on Pay Per View, Owen Hart fell over 70 feet into the top rope, and his soul entered eternity shortly thereafter. Good ole JR told viewers; “This is as real as real can be here”. Yes indeed, this is as real as real can be. But what do we know about Death? It is under the authority of Jesus Christ:

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Revelation 1:18)

At the pleasure and will of Christ, people are taken by Death (Ananias and Sapphira?), protected from Death (centurion's servant, and the nobleman's son of Capernaum?) and raised from Death (Lazarus and the daughter of Jairus?). We submit to you that Death, in obedience to Christ, visited the WWF on that fateful night in 1999. And it’s become a theme. No wrestling podcast or documentary seems complete without discussing the ‘personal demons’ and untimely deaths of wrestling idols.

Despite this apparent curse on the wrestling industry, Stephanie McMahon expressed great desire to ‘integrate’ lgbt storylines into WWE programming. Apparently, Stephanie wasn’t paying attention when she was growing up as for decades Vince has been a revolutionary force in sin integration. Shawn Michaels gyrating about, Hart Foundation prancing in pink, and Goldust. You can’t get more lgbt than Goldust, for crying out loud. Do we even need to talk about Pat Patterson, Terry Garvin and the famous ring boy scandal? There’s just no end to it. “Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3). And as for Death?

“this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day”. (John 6:40)

REPENT OR PERISH
