This workshop is largest in terms of targets, outturn, budget & manpower not only in Eastern Railway but also in Indian Railways. Commendable Performance of RPF/ER Shri Ghanshyam Singh, GM/Eastern Railway addressing the press on Union Budget pertaining to Railways on 01.02.2017. The (RPF) of Eastern Railway has made commendable performance in different spheres of its activities. During the period from February 3 to 9, 2017, RPF/ER arrested 6 persons for different crimes including involvement in fake appointment in Railways, making preparations for dacoity and theft of passengers’ belongings. Moreover, two touts were arrested and 10 Railway reservation tickets worth of `14,620 were recovered. Two minor girls and six boys were rescued from different stations and handed over to their guardians/NGOs. One woman was also rescued from committing suicide. Three left-behind luggage were recovered and handed over to the respective owners. ER continuing intensive ticket checking drive As a result of the intensive ticket checking drive conducted by Eastern Railway all over its jurisdiction from 20 January to 9 February 2017, altogether 115028 persons were detected travelling without or with improper ticket and carrying unbooked luggage and an amount of Rs. 2,04,32,753 /- was realised from those offenders. ER will continue such vigorous drives against ticketless travelling and carrying of unbooked luggage.
