Macaulay Honors College Junior Receives the Fellowship Award at

(April 20, 2015 - New York, NY) - Konstantin Dukhovnyy ’16 Macaulay Honors College at Baruch College is the recipient of the Colin Powell Fellowship award. The intent of the fellowship is to interest outstanding young people in the possibility of pursuing careers in the State Department. Dukhovnyy, who has a double major in political science and psychology, currently works for the Department of State in the United Nations.

“I look forward to what I know will be one of the best experiences of my life,” says Dukhovnyy. “These types of opportunities only come around once in a life time and I intend on taking full advantage of such an amazing opportunity.”

Every year the prestigious Colin Powell Fellows program funds two high- achieving Baruch College juniors or seniors. Winners engage in eight-week internships working either for the State Department in Washington or for the U.S. Mission to the United Nations in New York, depending on where they are needed.

About the Colin Powell Fellowship at Baruch College

The fellowships are funded by the Weissman Center for International Business. Ambassador Carl Spielvogel, as a member of the WCIB advisory council, took the lead in developing this opportunity for Baruch students. Spielvogel, who served as US Ambassador to the Slovak Republic in 2000 and 2001, received his BBA from Baruch in 1952, along with an Honorary LLD in 1984. He is also an Honorary Trustee of the Baruch College Fund. Colin Powell Fellowships Program requires a 3.5 GPA or higher, fluency in English and at least one other language (and preferably more) and an interest in foreign policy and international affairs.
