Dark Essence is a Norwegian record label featuring some of the best metal bands in today's scene. A sub-genre made famous by Windir, but also includes such bands as Vreid, Cor Scorpii, Sigtyr, Feigd, and yes; Mistur. Their debut album from 2009, “Attende”, is a symphonic, melodic black metal masterpiece. This is some of the greatest melodic black metal created. No wonder as Mistur features members and ex- members from such bands as Windir, Vreid, Kampfar, Sigtyr and Emancer. Their long awaited second album is in a working process and will be out in time for Inferno Metal Festival 2016! http://www.mistur.no THE 3RD ATTEMPT Norwegian black metal is still strong as hell and even if The 3rd Attempt is a new band; their sound is old school. Their debut album, “Born in Thorns”, was just released to great acclaim and it is no wonder as this is one of the best black metal releases of this year. But could anyone expect anything else? Because The 3rd Attempt is the new brainchild from riff master Tchort from such bands as Carpathian Forest, Green Carnation, Blood Red Throne, Emperor and Satyricon. It also features members from other bands like Apostasy, Midnattsevrede and Den Saakaldte, just to mention a few. The 3rd Attempt is everything true Norwegian black metal is about and they sure will put up a hell of show when the play at Inferno Metal Festival for the very first time. https://www.facebook.com/the3rdattemptofficial LUCIFER'S CHILD Dark Essence has struck gold when they signed Greece's most exiting band at the moment. Lucifer's Child was formed in 2013 by George Emmanuel of Rotting Christ and Stathis Ridis of Nightfall. Their debut album, “The Wiccan”, was just released and it is such an atmospheric and epic black metal experience that stands out among most of music released today. Lucifer's Child brings forward the Greek black metal sound to new levels and “The Wiccan” is a modern occult masterpiece. This band is not to be missed at Inferno Metal Festival 2016! http://www.luciferschild.net ORKAN Orkan, a black metal band based in Bergen, features members and ex- members of bands like Enchanting Darkness, Byfrost and Taake. Their debut album “Crimson Canvas” is, as described by the band, “a self-financed, thrashy album”, but Orkan has now left this sound behind them and taken their musical vision in a much darker direction. They've taken the classic Norwegian black metal sound and incorporated it with influences from many other genres to create atmospheric melodies with haunting vocals and intense blastbeats. Their new album, “Livlaus”, was just released and is something worth checking out. The band disbanded when Hellhammer members Tom Gabriel Warrior and Martin Eric Ain went on to form Celtic Frost. Warrior has made it clear; Hellhammer will never return and will never be reformed. Still the music exists, and it is an extremely important part of Tom G. Warrior's life and extreme metal in general – widely credited as pioneers of extreme metal. Even if Hellhammer is a band of the past, Warrior had an urge to perform the classics on stage. This is when Triumph of Death became an reality. Triumph of Death is a band solely dedicated to perform the legendary music from Hellhammer.

While admittedly not such a pioneering idea on its own, the vision of freeing metal music from genre boundaries, wrapped by grand production is what often make the band's music sound like a carnival of different colors and scents… a masquerade! Subterranean Masquerade's music first came into the world back in 2000 with a cover version of Peter Murphy's classic "Cut's you up". The cover, released as part of an 80's metal cover compilation album, was recorded with guest appearances by Tomas Lindberg of At the Gates, Kobi Farhi of Orphaned Land and produced by Dori Bar Or from Eternal Gray. The first official band release came in the form of a semi-acoustic two track EP (17 minutes long) entitled "Temporary Psychotic State", this recording featured Paul Khur of Novembers doom as the lead vocalist as well as JWW of Agalloch on bass guitar and Andy Winter from the band WINDS on some of the keys and synths. Released later that year by THE END RECORDS, the EP was received with highly positive reviews from media and fans alike. In the midst of working on a full length album, the band entered the studio to record a DEAD CAN DANCE cover track.
