Advertising a Canadian meal- delivery service, ‘Th e Greek Physician Hippocrates, said in his scriptures, “let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food ” and to a large extent, this is a good and true statement.’3 A questioner on WikiAnswers asks: ‘Did Hippocrates say let food by [sic] thy medicine and medicine by [sic] thy food?’ Th e question is short, misspelled, but thoroughly to the point, and the sole answer comes as a single word: ‘Yes.’4 Its use online repeats themes already discussed in this book, such as the priority dispute with Imhotep, to whom ‘Let food be your medicine, let medicine be your food’ is also ascribed.
