1 Revue de presse Semaine 43/2018 The Economic Times of India 22/10/2018 IndiGo has asked the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to remove restrictions on routes where its Pratt & Whitney engine-powered Airbus A320 Neo aircraft can fly and enable it to operate this plane on longer sectors. DGCA has so far not allowed A320 Neos with PW engines to be flown on routes where they are more than an hour away from a nearest airport at any point during the journey, due to the snags in Pratt engines. The US and European aviation regulators have given their nod in the last two years. As a result, the PW-powered A320 Neos with Indian carriers — IndiGo and GoAir — do not have “extended diversion time operations” (EDTO) clearance. “This clearance is required for aircraft with two or more engines to operate routes where the nearest suitable airport to make an emergency landing or divert to is more than an 60 minutes away at any point during the journey. The PW powered Neos in India have to fly on routes where an alternate landing airport is within 60 minutes away,” said a regulatory official. According to PW, its A320 Neo engine “has been granted 180 minute ETOPS eligibility by the European Aviation Safety Agency.” Now, IndiGo has sought EDTO clearance for the Neos as it prepares to make make use of the extended range of these planes to fly them to farther places. IndiGo did not comment on this issue. It also did not say what all routes it would operate the Neos on once and if EDTO clearance is given to them.

DRAFT EIA REPORT SUMMARY For Expansion of Dabolim Airport, Goa in Respect of Extension of Existing Integrated Terminal Building & Existing Apron at Dabolim Village, South Goa EIA District in Goa SUMMARY OF EIA PROJECT DESCRIPTION Goa Airport belongs to Ministry of Defence (Indian Navy) and Airports Authority of India (AAI) maintains an International Civil Enclave for facilitation of civil aircraft operation. Indian Navy provides air traffic services for the airport. Goa civil enclave is connected to several domestic and international destinations including all major cities in India like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi, Srinagar, Kolkata, Pune, Patna, Ahmedabad, Cochin, Chandigarh, Indore and International destinations like Kuwait, Dubai, Sharjah, Doha, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, Moscow etc. The airport was built, in 1955, by the Government of the Estado da Índia Portuguesa, on 249 acres (101 ha) of land, as the Aeroporto de Dabolim, which was later officially renamed to Aeroporto General Bénard Guedes. Until 1961, the airport served as the main hub of the Portuguese India's airline TAIP (Transportes Aéreos da Índia Portuguesa). In April 1962, it was occupied by the Indian Navy's air wing when Major General K.P. Candeth, who had led the successful military operation into Goa, "handed over" the airport to the Indian Navy before relinquishing charge as its military governor to a Lieutenant Governor of the then Union Territory of Goa, Daman and Diu in June 1962. In 2006, the Indian Civil Aviation Ministry announced a plan to upgrade Dabolim Airport. This involved constructing a new international passenger terminal (after converting the existing one to domestic) and adding several more aircraft stands.

CM TO INAUGURATE GRADE SEPARATOR AT DABOLIM AIRPORT TOMORROW Panaji : May 25, 2020 Jyaistha 4, 1942 Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (GSIDC) has completed the prestigious work of “Grade Separator at Dabolim Airport which will be inaugurated and opened for public use on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 10:00 am at the hands of Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, in the distinguished presence of Minister for Transport, Shri.Mauvin H. Godinho, Minister for Social welfare, Shri. Milind Sagun Naik, Minister for Public Works Department, Shri. Deepak Prabhu Pauskar, MLA of Cortalim, Smt. Alina Saldanha, MLA of Vasco-Da- Gama, Shri. Gagan Malik, and other dignitaries. GSIDC, under the visionary guidance and dynamic leadership of the Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, is leading the way in building quality infrastructure for the State of Goa. The newly constructed Grade Separator consists of two U-shaped Flyovers one towards Verna and the other towards Vasco side of the Goa International Airport at Dabolim. This was the need of the hour considering the massive traffic movement from all sides of Goa, on the roads leading to Dabolim airport, especially during peak hours of the flight movement, eventually resulting into traffic congestion near the airport. These two newly constructed flyovers along with the slip roads will facilitate smooth traffic movement towards and away from the airport and will avoid traffic congestion near the airport. Total length of the flyover towards Verna is 686.74 m, including two approach roads from two ends of this flyover.

  • INDIA the Economic Scenario
` ` 6/2020 INDIA Contact: Rajesh Nath, Managing Director Please Note: Jamly John, General Manager Telephone: +91 33 40602364 1 trillion = 100,000 crores or Fax: +91 33 23217073 1,000 billions 1 billion = 100 crores or 10,000 lakhs E-mail: [email protected] 1 crore = 100 lakhs 1 million= 10 lakhs The Economic Scenario 1 Euro = Rs.82 Economic Growth As per the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), India’s economy could prove the most resilient in South Asia and its large market will continue to attract market-seeking investments to the country even as it expects a dramatic fall in global foreign direct investment (FDI). However, inflows may shrink sharply. India jumped to ninth spot in 2019 on the list of global top FDI recipients from the twelfth spot in 2018. Due to the Covid-19 crisis, global FDI flows are forecast to nosedive by upto 40% in 2020, from their 2019 value of € 1.40 ($1.54) trillion, bringing FDI below € 0.91 ($1) trillion for the first time since 2005. FDI is projected to decrease by a further 5-10% in 2021 and a recovery is likely in 2022 amid a highly uncertain outlook. A rebound in 2022, with FDI reverting to the pre-pandemic underlying trend, is possible, but only at the upper bound of expectations. The outlook looks highly uncertain. FDI inflows into India rose 13% on year in FY20 to a record € 45 ($49.97) billion compared to € 40 ($44.36) billion in 2018-19. In 2019, FDI flows to the region declined by 5%, to € 431 ($474) billion, despite gains in South East Asia, China and India.

  • Even As You Read This, One of Indian Aviation's Biggest Deals May Be
1 Revue de presse Semaine 47 (18-24 Novembre 2018) Even as you read this, one of Indian aviation’s biggest deals may be coming together. The Tata Group may finally buy out the beleaguered Jet Airways which, for a third quarter in a row, posted huge losses (to the tune of Rs 1,297 crore) last week. Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran is said to be keen on the acquisition, and has apparently set the ball rolling with a feasibility study. If it works out, the Tatas will become a majority player in the skies, with this third acquisition after Vistara and Air Asia. Or not. When Chandrasekaran ran the idea by the Board recently, he did not exactly receive an enthusiastic response. Among other things, a $2 billion capital infusion may be too large a price to pay to acquire only 24 per cent of market share. Analysts say at the heart of the dilemma is a clash of personalities. Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata is allegedly not in favour of a deal unless Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal, who owns a 51 per cent stake, steps down. “Jet Airways might survive, but I don’t know if Naresh Goyal will,” says Kuljit Singh, a partner at Ernst & Young. Jet Airways has outlasted post-Liberalisation industry shakedowns; global fuel crises; and the 2008 recession. But, as of June 30 this year, the company’s net debt stood at Rs 7,364 crore – down from Rs 8,149 crore on March 31, 2018. Its stock price has also dipped sharply -- from Rs 883 in January to Rs 163 recently.
