(2008) Dance Coach and Choreographer for MediaCorp Channel 8’s Drama “Crime Busters x 2 (Ding Dang Shen Tan)” (2008) starring Tay Ping Hui and Paige Chua Dance Coach and Choreographer for MediaCorp Channel 8’s Telemovie “In the Name of Love” (2010) starring Joanne Peh Page 1 of 3 Singer: Kelvin Tan Wei Lian (aka Chen Wei Lian) Kelvin Tan Wei Lian (born 5 October 1981) is a visually impaired professional singer in Singapore, who shot to fame when he won Project SuperStar, a Mandarin singing competition hosted by Singapore’s MediaCorp TV’s Channel U. Born with Leber's congenital amaurosis, a rare eye disorder, Kelvin worked as a street busker for a living before he took part in the singing competition in which he was crowned the overall Champion. As one of the ambassadors for the 2005 Singapore Disability Awareness Public Education Campaign, he actively promotes awareness of the abilities and employability of people with disabilities. He is also a motivational speaker for the Young Leaders Foundation where he inspires the young to follow their dreams. In recognition of his achievement, he was awarded The Outstanding Young Persons of Singapore Award 2006 (Merit Winner) for the Personal Improvement and/or Accomplishment category. Wheelchair Dancers: Gayle Kiew Yoon Lian, Lily Tan Although Gayle has had Poliomyelitis since the age of 18 months, that hasn’t stopped her from dancing. Together with Lily Tan, they started wheelchair dancing together in 2008, and performed at the National Day Parade that year. Other than wheelchair dancing, Gayle enjoys knitting and singing. Since having Poliomyelitis from 3 months of age, it has affected Lily’s ability to walk normally. But this has not stopped this bubbly dancer from living an active lifestyle. Like Gayle, she picked up wheelchair dancing and performed at the National Day Parade in 2008. Page 2 of 3 Dancers: Kelvin Toh Kian Heng (also choreographer), Melissa Chan Jia Hui Melissa Chan is currently a junior college year 2 student at Hwa Chong Institution. She has been dancing various genres such as hip- hop, Chinese dance, ballet, DanceSport Latin and even wheelchair dancing. She has competed in numerous championships and was a finalist at the Singapore DanceSport Federation’s National Championships in Latin Grade A in 2012. Page 3 of 3 .
