PǂǓNJǔlj MNJǔǔNJǐǏ AǑǑdžǂǍ M Mǂǚ 2930, 2021 With the COVID Pandemic lessening, & life slowly returning back to normal, the Diocese has resumed the annual parish mission appeal. Although it is not being done in person, all parishioners are asked to generously help the charitable group that has been assigned to us. This year our parish mission appeal calls us to focus on the Missionary Congregation of the Evangelizing Sisters of Mary. The Evangelizing Sisters of Mary work in desert areas, in wartorn areas & in remote places such as , , , Sudan & Cuba. The Evangelizing Sisters of Mary work directly with single parents, slum dwellers, desperate youth, street children, refugees, parents & children affected with HIV/Aids. Additionally, they help women & men to create small projects such as sawing, gardening, baking bread & cookies for sale, in order to help them feed their families, pay for their medical expenses, & pay tuition for their children to get a basic education. Please generously support the wonderful work being done by the Evangelizing Sisters of Mary. Donations can be made by placing a check in the regular weekend collection basket or by mail to the Parish Office. Checks should be made out to the parish, with the memo line reading Parish Mission Appeal. Thank you in advance for your charitable support. ANTHONY OF PADUA CHURCH LORAIN, OH ADžǐǓǂǕNJǐǏ CljǂǑdžǍ “The most compelling reason for exposition [of the Eucharist] is that the Holy Spirit asks for it. Mary went to help her cousin Elizabeth who was with child. While still in Elizabeth’s womb, John the Bap- tist recognized Jesus hidden in the womb of Mary, the first tabernacle of the Lord. We now recognize Jesus hidden in the Eucharist. With each Hail Mary we pray for charity to love God and others.” ~The Eucharistic Rosary

“The Bread of Life will help the body as well as the soul, if we but touch the hem of His garment . . .and how much more have we than that. We can find Him at every moment on the altar. Be with Him there. Better than all books. Thank the Trinity over and over again for this Gift. Rest in His presence. ~Edel Quinn,

What is Our Lady’s peace plan from Heaven? Stop offending God with sin. Pray the Rosary daily. Offer prayers and sacrifices of reparation including the devotion of the Five First Saturdays with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Consecrate ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Wear the brown scapular as a sign of this consecration. ~From the booklet, “The Golden Century”

Why then do we have abortion laws which deny children their right to have birthdays? We have a1lowed this holocaust to go on too long. It should never have become a law at all! We cannot honor the laws of man above the laws of God M one of which states "Thou shalt not kill”. We need to take off the blinders. We need to change. What we need is a human life amendment to the constitution outlawing abortion. ~Ruth Weber

1305 E. EǢǙǕ AǦǕǞǥǕ LǟǢǑǙǞ, OH 440522226 MǑǩ 30, 2021 TǘǕ MǟǣǤ Hǟǜǩ TǢǙǞǙǤǩ SǥǞǔǑǩ COVID RESTRICTIONS LIFTED As many of you know, the Bishops of Ohio have reinstated the obligation to attend weekend Mass be- ginning on June 5th6th, 2021. In response to that announcement, the Diocese of Cleveland has lifted most of the precautions they had set in place for Mass during the COVID pandemic. I want to make you aware of the directives, so that you know what to expect upon attending Mass on the weekend of June 5th and 6th. Beginning Wednesday, June 2nd the following will now be allowed.... 1. Face masks are no longer requiredin Church. Those who are unvaccinated are encouraged to consider wearing a mask. 2. No more social distancingis required. 3. Holy Water in fonts is permitted. 4. Liturgical processions are permitted at the beginning and end of Mass. 5. Offertory collections are permitted. 6. The Sign of Peace is permitted (it is encouraged that it is not done with physical contact). Remember, liturgically it is never required. It is an option for the celebrant of the Mass. 7. Liturgical ministers are permitted. I ask all Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors and Ushers, who have not been ministering through the pandemic, to contact the ministry schedulers so that you can resume your ministry at Mass. 8. The Body of Christ is to be distributed as usual. ***Distribution of the Precious Blood remains suspended for the faithful. 9. Clergy may greet parishioners before & after Mass. 10. Hymnals are permitted to return to the pews, and singing is once again encouraged. 11. Visitation to the homebound, nursing homes & hospitals are permitted. It is time for all the faithful to return to the regular practice of the faith, and reception of the sacraments. We continue to pray for all those affected by COVID. Let us, once again, come together as an entire Parish Family to celebrate our faith in Jesus Christ. Mǂǚ CǓǐǘǏNJǏLj The St. Anthony students held classroom May Crowning's of Mary throughout the month of May. Each class met in the school Prayer Room where they crowned the Blessed Virgin and had a service with music, readings, and prayers to Our Blessed Mother. PǓǂǚdžǓ LJǐǓ Ǖljdž FǂǍǍdžǏ God our creator and sustainer, today our country brings to our memory those who have defended this nation in times of trouble. They have sacrificed their lives to protect our shores from those who would limit our freedoms or enslave us to ways that are against your will. Bring all those who have died in service to our country into your heavenly presence. We humbly call down your blessing on those still serving; grant your heavenly protection to these men and women, and open your Sacred Heart to give them peace and comfort. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
