With Auckland’s administrative error giving Tasman an early Christmas present, let’s hope the boys can advantage of that in the second half of the season. If our boys can just get a little more ruthless in front of goal then the draws will become victories and the points will be secured. The league is looking to be a tight affair with any 4 of 8 teams I think in contention for play-off berths in a couple of months’ time, so let’s get behind the boys today and hopefully secure 3 points towards that play-off position. I’d also like to once again take this opportunity to thank all those behind the scenes that make these home games so special and the work undertaken by the TASMAN United committee to ensure the viability and sustainability of the club cannot be underestimated. I acknowledge our sponsors also, for without their support we cannot do what we are doing and the goodwill extended by our major sponsors, I hope, is appreciated across the region. Our major sponsors Nelson Pine LVL, Sprig and Fern Brewery and Bayleys, deserve the full support of this community in their business endeavours as they show such support to community teams like Tasman United. That is not to forget our other sponsors who are also deserving of mention; Football Unlimited, Plus4 Insurance, Absolute Energy, NZME, NextGen Energy, Bowater Honda, BMG, BCM, The Sign Shop, Kahurangi Estate, Nelson Golf Club, Hamish Fletcher Lawyers, Nelson Weekly, Nelson College, Scott Construction and Waimea Print Express, who all contribute to the cause wholeheartedly and considerably. A warm welcome is extended to our visitors from Canterbury, and I know they will appreciate the facilities and home team hospitality either side of the game. And we also go live to the nation on SKY TV this afternoon at Trafalgar Park, so let’s make some real noise and show the rest of New Zealand the best way to support a team. Go Tasman!! Clive Beaumont General Manager Nelson Pine LVL Tasman United would like to thank our sponsors… Coach’s comments… Match Day Sponsor… Firstly I want to wish everybody a very happy new year. It has been a nice break but I must say, and I’m sure the players feel the same, that I couldn’t wait to get back into it. And there’s no better way than to start the year with the game against Canterbury. A big welcome to Willy , his staff, and his squad. It’s a massive game for both teams and we are very keen to put on a good performance for our last game of the season at Trafalgar Park. The players and I are well aware that we will have to be at our very best to get a positive result today and l have no doubt that everybody will do everything they can to achieve our objective. Again, I wish everybody all the best and hopefully we can contribute to the great start of your new year. Regards, Davor Tavich (Head Coach) About our visitors… Canterbury United was formed in 2002 as a conglomerate of various Christchurch area clubs, in order to form a strong team to take part in the 2002 NZ National Soccer League. In 2004, the league was replaced by the NZ Football Championship, run on a regional franchise basis, and Canterbury United became one of eight competing teams. In their first season of the NZ Football Championship, they missed out on the playoffs by four competition points, ultimately finishing fourth. In 2007, the club rebranded themselves as the Canterbury United Dragons with a new logo and mascot. The highest position they have finished in the competition so far was 2nd place in the 2011/12 season. Nelson Pine LVL Tasman United Canterbury United 1. Coey Turipa 1. Cory Wilson (GK) 13. Our next home game… NELSON PINE LVL TASMAN UNITED V SOUTHERN UNITED Sunday 5th November 2017 Trafalgar Park, Nelson 2pm Michael “Duffy” du Feu… We would like to pass on our sincere thoughts and best wishes to Mike’s family who are hopefully all here today. We will miss Duffy greatly and what he did to help Tasman United in our first year. He will be extremely hard to replace and he will never be forgotten. Stu summed Duffy up well in the poem he wrote for his funeral earlier this year – and here’s just a few paragraphs we think are perfect for today… He was a special someone, that dedicated a lot to football And he liked boat racing and the speedway, and of course a good pub crawl And regardless of wherever he was, at times he could be scruffy But to everyone who ever met him… he soon became of course just Duffy And more recently with NBF, he’d really started to thrive He became a massive asset, and ended up good mates with Clive It was as if his passion had returned, and his love for the game reignited And he had one hell of a season helping… with the first year at Tasman United And with all sincerity when we heard the news, that Mike had passed away The feeling that we all had, it was a very upsetting day There’ll be an empty space with him not here, and we’ll forget him never With our own memories we all have of him… the name Duffy will live on forever Current league table… Team P W D L GD PTS Tasman United 2 2 0 0 4 6 Team Wellington 3 2 0 1 3 6 Eastern Suburbs 2 2 0 0 3 6 Auckland City 3 1 1 1 3 4 Hawkes Bay United 2 1 1 0 1 4 Southern

  • 2018 Annual Report for the Trusts (Portage & Waitakere Licensing Trusts)
2018 ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE TRUSTS (PORTAGE & WAITAKERE LICENSING TRUSTS) Everybody in the Licensing Trust sector knows that the foundation on which the success of all trusts rests is public approval and we are very encouraged to report that our efforts in this regard have taken a major step change upwards in the last couple of years following a transformation of The Trusts that started in 2012. This year reflects a number of positive aspects of our improving and expanding business and our diversification in terms of revenue streams. Above all, it reflects a truly spectacular success of the Million Dollar Mission and our desire to Give Back More. Million Dollar Mission (MDM) is a good example of us delivering on our promises. We have repeatedly stated our goal of becoming a significant benefactor to West Auckland and with Million Dollar Mission we have put words into action once again. We wanted to create a new form of Giving Back that: • takes Giving Back beyond an occasional household distribution with a greater reach than our traditional sponsorships, • tells the stories of charities and causes helping make West Auckland a better place to live, • raises their profile and recognises their work and our part in supporting that, • gives the community a big say in where the money goes in an engaging way. With MDM, some of the worthiest causes in our community can publicly state their need for financial assistance and urge their supporters to vote for them as many times as it takes to reach their stated financial target. Since its inception around 30 causes each year have been supported, to scoop a share of $1million every year.
