Descendants of John Warin Generation 1 1. John Warin-1 was born about 1650 in Shepshed, Leichestershire, England. Amy Needom was born about 1650. John Warin and Amy Needom were married in 1668 in Shepshed, Leichestershire, England. They had the following children: 2. i. John Warren[1] was born about 19 Apr 1673 in England, Leichestershire County[1]. He died in 1732 in Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey[1]. He married Rebekah Fretwell on 01 Jan 1796 in New Jersey[1]. ii. Mary Warin was born on 27 Nov 1685 in Shepshed, Leichestershire, England. iii. William Warin was born on 12 Jun 1680 in Shepshed, Leichestershire, England. Generation 2 2. John Warren-2 (John-1)[1] was born about 19 Apr 1673 in England, Leichestershire County[1]. He died in 1732 in Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey[1]. Notes for John Warren: General Notes: Sometime around 1688, John Warren left his home in England and set out for a new life in a land that was just beginning to be settled. Records show that he was born about 1673. if this true he would have beeen 15 years old at the time of his leaving England. A "Certificate of Removal" from Friends of England to the Friends in Pennsylvania introducing John; Warren (Warne) dated June 19 1688, has twenty five signatures. At a Genealogical Library in London, England, in a book entitled " Collection of the Sufferings of a People Called Quakers," by Joseph Beese, 1683-1757, many names listed on the introduction letter had been persecuted in Leichestershire County, England. He came to Burlington, New Jersey. A Certificate of Marriage issued ny the Society of Friends stated that on the ninth day of the eleventh month one thousand six hundred and eighty nine, John Warren married Joan Sydes, Widow of Samuel Sykes. If his birth if correct he was married at a very young age. On January 1, 1706, he married Rebekah Fretwell, who was born in Stainsby, Ault Hucknell, Derbay, England on August 23, 1662. They had one son, John Jr. Rebecca was the daughter of John and Ellen Fretwell. John Warren purchased land from George Hutchinson in ,Jan 1690 and it was surveyed in May of the same year. It was located at Oneanickon. This place name of Indian origin was in the eastern part of old Springfield Township, Burlington Co.: "Oneanickon", now called Carmell." It was adjacent to the property of Samuel Sykes for whom the locale was named, now being called Sykesville, which is still a hamlet. Samuel died in 1688. His widow married John Warren,Chesterfield, under the jurisdiction of the Society of Friends, 9th of 11th month 1689. (O.S.) According to the Chesterfield Metting Records, John Warren married Rebecca Fretwell 1st of 6th monoth 1706. (O.S.) (researched by certified genealogist Elizabeth Marren Perinchief) Details of their life together are sketchy, but they probably lived in Burlington County all their lives as John Sr. was buried at Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey. They were probably farmers as all the Warrens have been farmers up to the recent descendants. Chesterfield is located about ten miles from the Delaware River northeast of Philadelphia. He died intestatein 1732. His wife Rebeca declined to administrate his estate and requested son John Warren, Jr. be appointed. Christened on04/19/1673 inShepshed, Leichestershire, England. Rebekah Fretwell daughter of John Fretwell and Ellen Stacy[1] was born on 23 Aug 1662 in Stainsby, Ault Hucknell, Derby, England[1]. Notes for Rebekah Fretwell: General Notes: They had only one child. Probably due to her age at the time of her second marriage. Her first mariage was in England. Rebecca arrived with brothers Joshua and Samuel. 2. Rebecca and brothers Samuel and Joshua secured certificates from the Chesterfield Meeting in Derbishire, England dated 1703 11 01 which they presented to the Burling MM 4th of 9th month 1700 (OS). Society of the Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims pg 352 Genealogical Pub. Co. Inc. Baltimore, Md 1988, Application of William Orion Warren and Sarah Noblet Swayne Warren before 1929 states john came to America in 1680 which cannot be correct if his birthdate is and that Rebecca was born in 1662 and died in 1732 married 1706. 7. A certificate of removal on behalf of John Warren to Friends in Philadelphia from Friends of England is dated 19th day of 1688 the 6th month. Records show he was 15 years old at the time and was therefore born about 1673. A copy of the letter is present in this file. 8. Notes for Joan Sykes: General Notes: Name Jolly on letter from Elizabeth perinchief dated Feb 2, 1990 says her maiden name was Jolly and she was widow of Samuel Sykes. Warren's property was next to Samuel Sykes property, a location now called Sykesville and still a Hamlet. Samuel died in 1688 and John Warren married his widow, Joanna. Chesterfield Township heritage 974.961 Salt Lake City LDS Library pg 24 states Samuel Sykes with wife Joanna Jolly came on the Ship ;Jeffers to Burlington in 1683 fronm Ashford Derbyshire. They settled in Springfield Twp in a place called Mont. Wigwam. He died in 1687 leaving a daughter Elizabeth married to Isaac Horner and a son John married to Joanna Murfin. The latter had 12 children. 5. FTM CD #240 Index of NJ Marriages 1680-1900 indicates Burlington County Court Records confirm marriage of Joann Sykes and John Warren as 1688/89 in Chesterfield NJ. Also LDS microfilm # 0848872-0848873. John Warren and Joan Sykes were married on 09 Nov 1689[1]. They had no children. Generation 3 3. John Warren Jr.-3 (John-2, John-1)[1] was born about 01 Nov 1707 in Burlington County, New Jersey[1]. He died on 27 Feb 1756 in Burlington County, New Jersey[1]. Notes for John Warren Jr.: General Notes: John Warren, Jr. and Susannah left a record of three daughters and four sons, of which at least six reached adulthood and were married. All were born in Burlington County, New Jersey. He married Susannah Farnsworth in Chesterfield, Burlington County in 1732. Her parents were Samuel and Damarius (Howard) Farnsworth.. John's will proved April 16, 1756. Exectors were his wife Susannah and her brother Samuel Farnsworth. Seven children identified. All mentioned in Biographical Sketches of Pioneers of Chesterfield Township. Children all mentioned by name in will. Susannah Farnsworth daughter of Samuel Farnsworth and Damarius Howard[1] was born on 02 Jan 1718 in Burlington County, New Jersey[1]. She died on 05 Jun 1789 in Burlington County, New Jersey[1]. John Warren Jr. and Susannah Farnsworth were married in 1738 in Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey[1].
