Spectrum Health is in the process of planning the integration of 292 physician residents and fellows into Spectrum Health as of January 2018. In addition, a new Spectrum Health/MSU Neurology residency will begin training four residents per year.

The cardiovascular team welcomes its first cohorts of fellows in both the Richard McNamara Cardiovascular Fellowship Program (three fellows) and the thoracic program (two fellows) in July 2017. The cardiology and thoracic fellowships join the existing integrated vascular residency program to continue its tradition of clinical excellence by training its future physicians in cardiovascular medicine.

Spectrum Health partnered with Grand Valley State University to develop an innovative fellowship program for pediatric nurse practitioners who train specifically for emergent and high-risk deliveries, neonatal emergencies, and well-baby rounding.
