A warm welcome Albany United, your players, coaching staff and supporters who have crossed the bridge for today’s clash. This is an important game for both teams. We hope to see you all in the clubrooms after the game for our hospitality. I would like to also extend a warm welcome to our new sponsor Auckland Abrasive Blast and Coatings (2005) Ltd, as well as those who have supported us long and hard this season. The past fortnight our men’s team has had two big games. A fortnight ago the guys played in the Chatham Cup up at Stanmore Bay against Hibiscus Coast and although they didn’t come away victors they certainly gave it their all. In fact to the point a penalty shootout had to decide who would advance to the next cup round. A credit must go to Mark, Scotty, Preston and Sean, as well as the boys, for the efforts they are putting in this season.

PO BOX 15-119 Miramar, Wellington CHAIRMAN Peter Chote BOARD OF DIRECTORS CHAIRMAN’S Andrew Wilson Graham Watson Dave Wilson Jamie Farrington COMMENTS GENERAL MANAGER Peter Becker A satisfactory start to the season so far, despite the feeling M: 027 448 8428 that we have not yet hit our straps. This is my assessment of E: [email protected] Scott’s view of the opening three weeks. ADMINISTRATOR Rosie Telford Today we will need to up the ante, so to speak, as we welcome E: [email protected] Jose and his charges back to David Farrington Park. These two squads know each other very well and match up against each other STAFF in an intriguing manner. Similar styles and philosophies will be on Head Coach display and there is seldom much to separate us. I am expecting a Scott Hales very closely fought encounter. Assistant Coach Last time at David Farrington I thought the ground condition was a Stu Widdowson little bit wanting and I hope the last two weeks of rest have allowed GK / Assistant Coach the WCC to do their thing and the players can feel confident and Steve Dimakis demonstrate their high level skills in order to entertain what I also hope, will be a good Wellington crowd. Just one point separates us Sports Scientist in the top four at present and I’m looking for this to be four at the James Mac Aodhagain end of today.

9th Eagles - AFF Youth Grade 9 Division 3 Town Coach: Nigel Frost Manager: Nigel Lowe Team Members: Alexander Horwood, Dylan Harkins, Hannah Wise, Jacob Baker, Lucas Hedley, Riley Lowe, Riley Young, Taylor Frost, Toby Hancock, Troy O’Leary, Vaughn Thirwall (GK) Awards: Player of the Year Riley Lowe Most Improved Player Hannah Wise Sportsperson of the Year Taylor Frost Players Player of the Year Vaughn Thirwall Golden Boot Riley Lowe (24 goals, 49%) Team Stats (Competition Round): 6 Wins, 2 Draws, 1 Loss Goals: 29 for 11 against 18 Goal Difference Team Report 2015 bought a whole new team in the 9th grade for Nigel Frost to coach and Nigel Lowe to manage. We had 3 players (Hannah Wise, Taylor Frost and Riley Lowe) all 8th grade players playing in the 9th Grade competition. From an early stage in the season, we realised that we had a special little team with a lot of skill and they all seemed to have the ‘never say die’ attitude. We had a fun day competition at Drury and the 9th Grade Eagles went through undefeated to take the title. It was a fun day and a chance for all teams to try different combinations before the start of the Competition round. The day saw some great team work amongst the players and lots of passing and even some tactical play put in place. All the players looked forward to the match days, with the anticipated Player of the Day, Captain’s and Parents choice award trophies to look forward to. After the matches we had a swarm of excited young players trying to see who was going to receive the awards.

PO BOX 15-119 CHAIRMAN’S Miramar, Wellington CHAIRMAN Peter Chote BOARD OF DIRECTORS COMMENTS Andrew Wilson Graham Watson Welcome back to David Farrington Park for what will be the Dave Wilson last game for 2020 before the competition takes a break for Jamie Farrington the Christmas and New Year period. GENERAL MANAGER I think it’s safe to say that this year has been one that most of us would Peter Becker like to forget, but it’s been great to have live sport back and finish the M: 027 448 8428 year watching the game we all love, at the ground we all love. E: [email protected] We head in to Round 6 of the ISPS Handa Men’s Premiership still ADMINISTRATOR undefeated, with two wins and three draws under our belt. We’ve had Rosie Telford plenty of chances this season and I trust the team have been working E: [email protected] hard this week to finish those and secure those all-important three STAFF points today. Head Coach A mention must go to our youngsters, Ben, Wan, Jake, Owen and Scott Hales Haris who have all come into the squad and stepped up, increasing Assistant Coach the competition for those starting spots which is always a good Stu Widdowson headache for any coach to have. GK / Assistant Coach By now you would have all read the news regarding the changes to Steve Dimakis the competition coming into effect next season.

ISPS HANDA MEN’S PREMIERSHIP | 2020/21 SEASON 1 2 TEAM WELLINGTON FOOTBALL CLUB | www.twfc.co.nz TEAM WELLINGTON FC CHAIRMAN’S Team Wellington Soccer Inc. PO BOX 15-119 Miramar, Wellington CHAIRMAN COMMENTS Peter Chote So our wishes were granted the other week and we are back BOARD OF DIRECTORS Andrew Wilson home against the same opponent. I’m excited and expecting more Graham Watson of the same. Dave Wilson Jamie Farrington Last weekend Hamilton Wanderers brought their game to David Farrington Park and proved to be, as predicted, a very difficult and GENERAL MANAGER determined opposition. Peter Becker M: 027 448 8428 As Scott said to me after the game, a win is a win, and this is true, but E: [email protected] I really felt that we still have more to give today. The pitch has never looked better and the ground as a whole is conducive to constructive, ADMINISTRATOR exciting, attacking football, so let’s hope we experience this today. Rosie Telford E: [email protected] There is a real feeling today of finality and frustration as this is the last occasion where TeeDubs, as we know them, will walk out at the home STAFF of football in Wellington. Personally, I think it is a great shame that the Head Coach most competitive and successful version of New Zealand Football’s Scott Hales National League is to be dismantled. A league that has led our Assistant Coach countries clubs to numerous Club World Club Championships and to Brendan McIntyre world-wide notoriety will be no longer past the next couple of weeks.
