As somebody who spent a lot of time on a bicycle in my youth, it is great to see so many students cycle to and from school on a daily basis. In an attempt to improve the safety of your son or daughter on the roads, I will be offering a few workshops where students can bring their bicycle helmets, and apply a decorative and unique design to them. It is my hope that your son or daughter will be more likely to keep their helmets on for the duration of their journey and remain safe from door to door, as well as becoming more visible to motorists. If you would like your son or daughter to come along, the first meeting will be the first Friday of the new term. Mr. Bunyan Head of Design & Technology

Music Department – Chamber Concert

On Friday evening, the Music Department held its first Chamber Concert of the year to a packed audience in Runcie Hall. The term ‘chamber’ comes from the word for a room as it is music to be played in a room rather than a concert hall, and the Runcie drama room was an ideal venue for our first concert. It gave students the chance to show their solo performance skills in a much more intimate environment and to prepare them for performance exams later in the year. We were entertained by energetic guitar pieces, dazzling piano performances and some breath taking singing we look forward to our next Chamber Concert in term 3, which will be open to both lower and upper school. Thank you to all those students who took part. Mr. Romhany Director of Music
