In addition enquiries were continuing regarding vandalism to the -U.F. Church, a sneak theft from which some of the property had bee recovered, bogus workmen who had targeted an elderly Resident, and the theft of a motor cycle. C Kydd asked for any information regarding the sneak thief and the boyus workmen who were targeting the elderly. After discussion of the subjects reported, Mr Herron thanked her for her attendance and assistance. Planniny Consultations: Weekly Planninq Lists The Lists from 31st January to 21st February were considered. Burnbrae Farm An alteration to the previous Planning Consent was noted, this involved replacement of a caravan by a temporary log cabin and alteration to the pigeon lofts. Proposed Residential Development at Lochend Avenue, Mount Ellen The Community Council's observations of 15th and 31st January were acknowledged and had been forwarded to Taylor WoodrowtsPlanning Consultants. In response to the Community Council's suggestion that Residents should be involved in the consultation, it was considered that consultation with the Local Councillors and the Community Council covered the local community aspect. Development/ ..... Pld -btim Development Brief for Proposed Residential Dwelopment West of arntinued: Lindsavbes Road.

A copy of the Brief for 31 houses had been received. This had been considered and comments forwarded within the time stipulated. The Gas situation had been discussed at length at the Meeting. Riqhts of Way 1. The missing gate on the Railway Walkway at Bridgend would be replaced. 2. Councillor Gray had forwarded clarification of the Right of Way from to via IRO Villas, Woodhead. Ice Cream Van parked in Cloverhill Place durinq School Lunch Break In response to a complaint of cigarettes being sold to School Children, the Secretary had contacted the appropriate Departments and the Driver had been warned. Unfortunately it was 13censed to trade in Moodiesburn and Chryston. It was agreed to inform the Police on its obstruction by parking on the pavement.

Association of Scottish Communit cils in sole partnership ' with The Local Channel had launched National Network of Community Council web sites. A form signing up was enclosed. It was agreed not to proceed with this. Scottish Water A letter regarding the new charges was received. ENTRUST A copy of the Winter Newsletter vas received and noted. MSP Alex Neil Mr Neil sent a copy of his February Newsletter. Roads and Liqhtinq Noted for action were the cracking of the Road surface in Road due to heavy vehicles, the breaking up of the road surface at Crow-wood Lights, and the worsening situation in Mollinsburn. Citizens Advice Bureau Mr Murray reported that the next Meeting would be on 1st March.

Anstruther Holiday Project

Beaconbus The minibus was being made well use of by Local Organisations Beaoon Shop Project The shop was still popular - Mr Camphll was in attendance each Saturday. The aims were to raise funds to support the Holiday Project .

McGladdery, before commencing her report, informed the Members Liaisan: that WPC Kydd was leaving for Australia. Since the previous Meeting the incidents involved an assault, an attempted break in, an unsuccessful break in to the ATM at the Co-op, and a school. girl found to be dealing in controlled drugs. As part of an ongoing initiative, several youths had been reported for Breach of the Peace and drinking in public Places. A further initiative aimed at tackling vandalism, and working closely with NLC Graffiti' Squad was clearing graffiti from Cunkernauld Road. Other items noted for attention were paint vandalism on the Jubilee Path and an ice cream van blocking sight lines. Mr Herron thanked WPC McGladdery for her report, and expressed appreciation of her attending in her own time.

He had also researched the history of the field. It had been acquired by Mr Moffat from the Estate, and on his death, his widow had sold it to the County Council of Lanarkshire without restriction as to its use. Woodhead Road - Provision of Public Access Since the numbering of the Rights of Way differed from those in the Community Councilispossession, an up to date copy of the Rights of Way in the Chryston Area had been requested. Planninq Aid for Scotland A copy of the February Newsletter was received and training events noted. Business Ice Cream Van in Lindsaybeq Road Arisiy fram th!e The Head Teacher at Chryston High School thanked the Community Council MiIMtes: for their concern and action regarding targeting of school children. North Lanarkshire Council

1. Councillor Gray advised the resurfacing of Bthlyn Road and Greenlea Road. 2. Overgrown bushes in Chryston Road had been cut back and an instructio. given to Residents at 26 Station Road to cut back the vegetation. 3. Proposed introduction of 2Omph Speed Limit - the Community Council was thanked for suggestions of various areas for future consideration A mandatory ZOmph at Schools would be introduced - with a section of Lindsaybeg Road fronting the High School. The Secretary had aclmowledged the letter and had requested consideration of a safe crossing for pedestrians at the junction' with Old Lindsaybeg Road leading to Main Street Chryston. 4. Damaged fence at Chryston Road - a repair had been programmed. The Secretary had aclaowledged the letter and had pointed out the hazards since the 'bus stop had been re-located to the gap in the fence leaving an unintermpted drop into the field. 5. Traffic situation in the area:- The Council was in the process of reviewing the speed limit in Gartferry Road. A traffic flow survey would be undertaken at the Station Road and Lindsaybeg Road junctions with Cumbernauld Road. Since there was no response to a request for a meeting - the Secretary had pointed this out. A request had been included for advice of a safe crossing for the footpath at Crow-wood Roundabout since the speed limit in Dewar Road was being increased to 40mph. The path had been constructed at the insti@icn of the Community Council since the existing one on the North side of the A.80 would be severed by the Roundabout, leaving no pedestrian access between and Muirhead. Further comments on safety had been made prior to the construction of &war Road.

6. A request for clearing the drainage channel outside the former Clydesdale Barnk was made, also advice given to Roads Department on the linear cracks at the West Side of the Village.

Insurance The Association of Scottish Community Councils had renewed the insurance for a premium of S80. Post Office - Tax Discs facility Muirhead Post Office were unsuccessful in their application, the facility had been awarded to Moodiesburn Post Office.

1. Advice was received to forward the accounts for Audit. 2. Hall Lets account was g10.20 for January and February. 3. A Community Forum Conference would be held at the Pivot Centre on 30th March at 7.30pm. 4. Access Forum Annual General Meeting - an invitation was given for: 21st April at Summerlee Heritage Park. 5. Greater Glasqow NHS Advice was given of a WHic Meeting on 16th March. Health Council

1. Advice was received that the Greater Glasgow Health ComciP would close on 31st March. 2. Copies af the march Health mtters Newsletter were received- A copy of the Consideration Paper on Future Thoracic Surgery Services in Lanarkshire was forwarded. Responses were invited by 5th May.

Various m@orts: Donation to Spark Initiative A letter of thanks was received. Crime Prevention Panel Mr Rose reported on the Meeting, stating that it was mostly Cumbernauld. Northern Corridor Community Councils Mr Rose and Mr Murray had attended a conference ah the Pivot Centre regarding a Community Forum. Mr Rose submitted a detailed report to the Members. Anstruther Holiday Project Booking for holidays were being received. Beaconbus A repair to the brakes had cost .€400r Insurance was costing more as was the A.A. subscription and the cost of diesel. An increase of charges was discussed as 50p per mile was not covering the outlay. Beacon Shop Project It was agreed that the shop open the Easter Week-end.

Other Doa Litter Bins Competent Business : It was agreed to request bins on the Jubilee Path, Lanrig Road, Lindsaybeg Road, and for an ordinary litter bin in Pentland Road where the red bin was being used for general rubbish.

The Audited accounts had been circulated for attention. The details of expenditure were explained by the Secretary and the Report was agreed. Income had amounted to $855.46, Expenditure to S690.95, the resultant surplus added to funds in hand left a total of $2,005. Annual An annual report had been prepared by the Secretary and was circulated Rep*: for consideration. Mr Rose proposed adoption, Mr Murray seconded, and the Council agreed.

Present Members of the Community Council are Miss R Anderson# Mr R Campbell, Mrs N Corrigan, Mrs E Dekker, Mr T Echlin, Mr B Elder, Mr R Herron, Mr J Hynes, Mr D Murray, Mr B Rice, Mr J Rose and Mr R Stirlingr in accordance with the Community Council Elections called by North Lanarkshire Council in October 2004. The Community Council continued in its aims as defined in the Act of 1973, to ascertain, co-brdinate and express the views of the Local Community to the Local and Public Authorities in the area that it represented. In this respect, 11 meetings were held during the year and matters dealt with included Planning Consultations, threats to the Greenbelt, preservation of Rights of Way, Street Lighting, Road Maintenance, Pavement Rapairs, Speeding traffic, Parking and Litter Problems, safety measures for pedestrians on the A.80 and proposals for the M80. Wetings had been arranged with Representatives from Scottish Ekecutive and Amy Highways to iron out problems at Crow-wood Lights, and a successful meeting had been arranged with a Representative from Scottish Power in connection with the amount of Power Failures in Muirhead. The problems at Mollinsburn had been aired at a Meeting in September with a long list recommendations taken on board by Head.of Roads Department. Disappointingly despite a reminder by Councillor Hogs, none of the improvements requested had materialisc In October, at the inaugural Meeting of the Cornunity Council after the elections, Mr Robert Herron was Cltected as Chairperson, Mr David -ray as Vice-Chairperson, and Miss R Anderson as Hon. Secretary/Treasurer. The Comity Council is registered with ENTRUST, is a member of the Association of Scottish Community Councils, SCOTWAYS, Planning Aid for Scotland and the Association of Northern Corridor Community Councils in Norkh Lanarkshire. Mr Rose is-Treasurerof the Crime Prevention Panel, and Chair of the Northern Corridor Community Councils, Mr Murray is an Executive Member of Curribernauld Citizens Advice Bureau, and both take an active part in Motorway consultatibns. Mr Rice looks after Health Matters and Mr Canqkell takes care of the Shop Project. Mr Stirling looks after Mollinsburn Village. All Members join in taking care of items of business, all are actively involved in Planning Issues and are associated with Projects of Local Wnefit. These are the Community Minibus, the Anstruther Holiday Project and the Community Shop which assists with funding of the Projects. In May, Mr Stuajt-t Kidd set up a page for the Comity Council in his Chryston Website and this has proved popular.

Welcome Police Liaison is on hand at monthly meetings and assistance given by Councillors GEay, Hogg and Shaw is appreciated.
