Tech and eighth batch of B.Tech students was held on May 25, 2012. Twenty seven SM.Tech students from two disciplines and four hundred and fourteen B.Tech students from five disciplines received their course completion certificates on the occasion. Prof. Dr. M. S. Ananth, former Director, IIT Madras, and presently visiting Professor, IISc, Bangalore was the Chief Guest of Samavarthanam 2012. Through the Samavarthanam Address, Dr. Ananth shared his thoughts on education with the audience. In his address, Dr. Ananth expounded on the components of education, namely knowledge, know-how and character; and laid emphasis on the need to build character through education. He also elucidated Aurobindo’s principles of education; the connection between learning and creativity; and emphasized the use of intuition in learning. Discussing the history of education in India, from the gurukula innovation and entrepreneurship in the system to the ‘shikshyakula’ system globalised scenario. Letha mentioned that RSET is well equipped to meet the constantly changing trends in technical education, and has secured for itself a distinguished place amongst the self- financing engineering colleges in the state. Rev. Fr. Jose Alex CMI, Manager of RSET and the Provincial of the Sacred Heart Province of the CMI congregation, presided over the function. He congratulated the staff and the students for maintaining the highest pass percentage amongst the various engineering colleges under the M. G. university. Rev. Mar Thoma Church, part of the great tradition of the Malankara Syrian Church which had been formulated by St. Thomas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, wielded education during the progressive period of Reformation in Kerala, as a mighty weapon for the liberation of the downtrodden masses from their stigmatized ignorance and backwardness. The establishment of St.Thomas College at Kozhencherry in 1953, as part of the altruistic missionary zeal of the church during Reformation, was the second educational venture under the auspices of Mar Thoma Church. The founding fathers, late Most Rev. Dr. Juhanon Mar Thoma Metropolitan and late Rev. K.T.Thomas Kurumthottickal, envisaged the college as an instrument for the realization of a bold vision that aimed at providing quality education to the people of the remote hilly regions of Eastern Kerala. Rajpurohit** *Professor, Jagan Nath University, Jaipur **Associate Professor & HOD, Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies, Jagan Nath University, Jaipur ABSTRACT - This article keeps its focus on the global phenomenon of relationship between businessmen, politicians, bureaucrats and white collar crimes committed by the prestigious personalities in respect of funding to political parties. In Indian context too this is a widespread practice in the elections and otherwise providing funding to politicians and their parties indirectly to obtain the benefits after winning the elections. There are so many laws and policies made by the governments to reduce or prevent these illegal practices but lacking a strong legal framework. Although it was considered as a necessary tool for the development of political parties or of democracy to provided funding by the corporate world like Birla and Tata, before independence and after independence too, like main corporate houses as Reliance, yet its excessive use and bad effects has deteriorated the Indian democracy and political practices. To prevent the practices in political funding in our country it is required to set effective enactment as in UK and France.
