Microsoft Home Use Program (HUP) Employees are eligible to purchase a licensed copy of Microsoft® Office 2013 Professional Plus to use at home for $11.00. The Home Use Program (HUP) replaces the Use at Home program available with Office 2003. The Use at Home program did not allow Office 2003 to be used for personal purposes; it could only be used for work related activity. The HUP program permits the use of the Office Pro Plus suite of products for personal use. The contractual agreement for the HUP program is between Microsoft and the employee. This license expires with the board’s Software Assurance coverage or upon termination of employment. SCDSB has a contractual commitment for the Software Assurance until October 31, 2014. The decision to extend the program will be a component of the 2014‐2015 budget. Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, OneNote, Publisher, InfoPath and SharePoint Workspace. Using a personal credit card, an employee has the option to purchase Office 2013 Professional Plus or Office for MAC 2011, not both. The employee must register with their board email address. This will be used by Microsoft to confirm eligibility. We have registered eligibility for “scdsb.on.ca” and “ thelearningcentres.com”. Participation in the HUP program is not required to have Office 2013 installed on board owned equipment including the teaching note books (TNBs), which have been rolled out. A plan for the rollout of Office 2010 on board‐owned equipment will be released early in 2012. Note: This program code is assigned to our organization for our sole use in accessing this site. Simcoe County District School Board students are not eligible to participate in the HUP program. Software obtained from the Home Use Program is not to be installed on SCDSB equipment.
