EL ÓRGANO EJECUTIVO EN EL RAMO DE ECONOMÍA Vista la solicitud y documentos presentados completamente el día nueve de junio de dos mil quince, por el Señor Napoleón Chávez Pérez y continuadas por el señor JORGE ALBERTO PLATERO PLATERO, actuando en su calidad de Representante Legal de la ASOCIACIÓN COOPERATIVA DE APROVISIONAMIENTO DE EMPRESARIOS TAXISTAS AEROPORTUARIOS, DE RESPONSABILIDAD LIMITADA, que se abrevia "ACACYA, DE R.L.", del domicilio y departamento de San Salvador; referidas a que se le concedan a su representada por un nuevo período de CINCO AÑOS, los benefi cios establecidos en el Art. 72 de la Ley General de Asociaciones Cooperativas. CONSIDERANDO: I. Que mediante Acuerdo Ejecutivo número 353, de fecha cinco de abril de dos mil once, publicado en el Diario Ofi cial número 141, Tomo 392, del día veintisiete de julio de dos mil once, a la Asociación mencionada se le otorgaron por un período de cinco años, los benefi cios antes citados, los que le vencieron el día catorce de diciembre de dos mil catorce. II. Que por medio de la Resolución número 631 de fecha veintidós de julio de dos mil dieciséis, se resolvió procedente concederle a la mencionada Asociación por un nuevo período de CINCO AÑOS, los benefi cios solicitados, contados a partir del día nueve de junio de dos mil quince. III. Que el Representante Legal de la referida Cooperativa, por medio de escrito presentado el día ocho de septiembre de dos mil dieciséis, manifestó aceptar en nombre de su representada los términos vertidos en dicha Resolución.     My Hundred Years of Solitude: An Essay Marcos Villatoro The pages are yellowed. The spine is broken at least a dozen times. Decades-old, crisscrossed rubber bands hold the book together. They’ve stayed stretched for too long and have dried brittle. I should change them out. But they’ve become part of my art piece, this disintegrating copy of Cien años de soledad. In English, One Hundred Years of Solitude. It’s a paperback copy, the eleventh edition. I keep it in a zip-lock plastic bag and pull it out only after washing my hands. It’s a pitiful thing and the most important book in my library. I’ve never shelved it. It’s on a countertop in my office, always in sight. My talisman. Not that it brings me good fortune; it simply helps me settle into one of my two bloods, the once- hidden one, undiscovered until this book came along. I can’t read this copy anymore. It would crumble into dust. There are at least five other editions spread throughout the house, each in its own gradation of decay. Their spines are more or less intact. Each one taken in succession has fewer notes, fewer needs to write vocabulary in the margins, unlike this first copy, which I ravaged with two ball point pens, red and black. The last copy I recently bought in Colombia, a fiftieth- anniversary hardbound edition with artwork. I’ve yet to read it. I want to read it without a pen, without underlining lines of poignant moments in the story.

Toohey∗ Abstract Recently many scholars portray identity politics and environmentalism as incompatible, or analyze the two in ways that marginalize immigrants. Assuming that immigrants should have a right to land and a protected environment as well, this article explores how creative media can interact with political theory to explore land, ecology and identity. Literature and film that are relevant to a concept of land and immigration that promotes ecologically sustainable and anti-racist visions are analyzed here to create an assemblage, based on Deleuze and Guattari’s theories. This is done to accomplish three tasks. The first is to disrupt misconceptions of a dichotomy between ecological activism and immigrant rights activism. The second task is to address the connections between ecologies and immigration and diaspora communities while taking into account issues of control over land that have often been important to people who immigrate from Central America and Mexico to the United States. As a third task, the idea of assemblage is modified to integrate Marx’s theory of primitive accumulation and Laclau and Mouffe’s idea of discourses of positive and negative activation in discourse to explore Deleuze and Guattari’s theory through a more specific application to situations of political economy that have been so intertwined with immigration, land, and ecology in Central America, Mexico, and the U.S.

The shocking news of the 28-year-old man’s death at the hands of San Francisco police of- ficers, the storm of media cover- age and confusion that followed, as well as the accusations and lack of information revealed by those responsible, have led many com- munity members to denounce police brutality and injustices in the legal system. On April 21, a group consist- ing of those who knew Nieto and many who didn’t, participated in the first of what they said will be monthly memorial gatherings to “demand justice.” Burritos in hand, they trekked from Precita Park up to the west side of Bernal Hill, where the young man was gunned down just a month ear- lier—Nieto is said to have been eating a burrito at this spot before being shot at least 10 times by San Francisco Police officers on the evening of March 21. “How many people who were born and raised in the Mission or in Bernal, had one of their very first kisses on this hill? This place was traditionally called ‘Lover’s Lane.” This is what they called it, because everybody came out here to have their first romance,” said Adriana Camarena, a law con- sultant and literary writer. “Alex loved this place— he was a lover, and that’s why he would come up here, to see this beautiful view and sunset.” The grief and anger over what Nieto’s family believes to have been an unjustified shooting has been directed into a community movement demanding justice.

Romilia Chacón, Home Killings 51 En las últimas décadas del siglo XX y al inicio del XXI, cuando la población latina aumenta rápidamente en los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica, escritores de herencia hispana se dan a conocer por medio de una vasta y diversa producción cultural que explora y explota representaciones convencionales de la cultura latina en los EE.UU. Como explica el crítico literario Ralph E. Rodríguez en su libro Brown Gumshoes: Detective Fiction and the Search for Chicana/o Identity (2005), algunos escritores chicanos y latinos se apropian de la novela negra o novela de crimen para hacer indagaciones importantes sobre problemáticas sociales, culturales e identitarias. La (des)construcción de identidades e imaginarios sociales, la elaboración de historias ofi ciales y extraofi ciales y la confi guración simbólica y real de comunidades locales y globales, así como la imposición de políticas migratorias internacionales y el despliegue de la violencia y la criminalidad transnacional, fi guran como temas sobresalientes de la novela negra tal y como es retomada por algunos escritores latinos. Yendo más allá de un ejercicio intelectual y de un juego de prestidigitación, escritores latinos/as como Rolando Hinojosa, Rudolfo Anaya, Lucha Corpi, Michael Nava, Alicia Gaspar de Alba y Marcos McPeek Villatoro, entre otros, usan el género de la novela negra para poner en tela de juicio las instituciones autoritarias, los valores normativos y las condiciones socioeconómicas y políticas en los cuales origina la criminalización de los latinos en los EE.UU.
