  • Seattle Japanese School : Case Study
Seattle Japanese School : Case Study Seattle Japanese School Improving Internal Communications with IDAS™ Technology A case study prepared by Icom America Inc. Manufacturers of high-performance, award-winning radios for over 55 years. Seattle Japanese School Improving Internal Communications with IDAS™ Technology The Seattle Japanese School is a supplementary Japanese school located in Bellevue, Washington, at the Sammamish High School campus. The school has over 600 students, ranging from kindergarten to high school. A functional communication system on the school’s campus is of the upmost importance. Teachers and staff need to be able to communicate effectively with each other, during any situation. Prior to May 2017, the school’s communication equipment was basic, causing unreliable communication. Internal Communications Key to Operation At the Seattle Japanese School, effective internal communications is a necessary aspect of the school’s daily operation. The school sits on a large campus, which includes a sports field and a three-story, 323,000 square-foot building. Many areas on campus have little to no cell phone coverage. Featured Products: Since the campus is spread out, security and medical personal, administrators, • IDAS™ F4400DS Series teachers, and even the principal could be anywhere on the campus. The school’s communication plan requires all staff to have immediate communication with each other, at any given time. Due to the lack of cell service, teachers and staff had been using analog two- way radios to communicate with each other, security personal or emergencies services, if needed. While the analog radios where an improvement over cell phones, there were limitations that prevent the school from obtaining their desired internal communications.

  • Stay-Home-Coming 2020 Celebration” Scheduled Next Week, October 19 – 23 That Mr
Published every Wednesday! Good Day, Highlanders! October brings blustery days and definite signs of autumn. We have reached the midpoint of 1st quarter and teachers have updated their grades in Power School. Please check out Power School for your student’s midterm 1st quarter academic progress. We conducted a teacher training last week on how to streamline the assignments in Microsoft Teams to then be transferred to Power School which continues to be the student data system we use to record grades and construct transcripts. We recognize that navigating these digital platforms can be challenging so always feel comfortable emailing the classroom teacher if you have questions. Our teachers are attempting to reach out to every student who has not completed assignments so far and a partnership with parents/guardians is welcome. Last week I shared with the Shadle Staff an article titled, Professor Ahmad’s Six-Month Wall: Rehumanizing The Virtual Workplace by Nancy Doyle which described how to cope with the ongoing pandemic from the perspective of Dr. Aisha Ahmad, Professor of Political Science of the University of Toronto. In part, the article states: Human Beings, Not Human Doings Your individual coping strategies are unique to you. We are all different in what works, what provides solace, so encourage your team to share ideas. However, we are all the same in this pandemic in worrying about the future, wondering what will happen to our transport, social structures, and economic paradigms. There will be losses. We know that some of the most inspirational stories will surely emerge as we emerge, the businesses who are innovating right now in chrysalis.

HOMECOMING DAY EVENTS - ---;:,._pages 6 and 7 Sciturclay, Oct. 22, 1966 STATEMENT On November 8, Eastern's building plans will go to the people, in the form of Referendum 15. Of the forty millions asked for by the legislature, Eastern will re ceive almost four. So far, no organized movement has appeared to oppose the bond issue. Well, but will it pass then? I think we are entitled to guarded optimism-but not complacency. A similar measure, Referendum 10, failed in Spokane County in 1958 by a margin of 7,621 votes. Of the sixteen easternmost counties in Washington, only six favored the proprosal-though a large affirmative voice in King County saved the bond issue at that time. Advocates of Referendum 15 in eastern \Vashington, how ever, probably will not wish to depend so heavily upon their v,restern counterparts this year.
