The Ice Rink Experts Since 1981 Awareness and Identity THE ICE RINK EXPERTS SINCE 1981 AWARENESS AND IDENTITY Innovative. Competent. Reliable. These three words sum up the corporate philo- sophy of ISS, a company having its roots in the last century, at the beginning of the 1970s. Today this philosophy is more important than ever befo- re. See for yourself and take a look at our wide range of technical innovations, the new standards we have set in solar, ice rink, refrigeration and air conditioning technology as well as the amazing diversity of our products, all developed with our customers in mind. ISS is in worldwide demand as a supplier and partner thanks to the dynamism with which we have developed our products and services, as well as our obvious international success. The satisfac- tion of our customers is, however, still the greatest honour we can imagine. We are convinced that a product can only be improved and developed af- ter a careful analysis of all customer requirements and in cooperation with the customer. We have been guided by this principle for fi ve decades. An ice rink in winter and artifi cial turf or hard court in summer - the choice is yours! Low energy consumption and multifunctionality are what make our ICEGRID® MULTICOURT ice rinks so special. No more costly reconstruction work is needed between the summer and winter seasons. MOBILE AND FLEXIBLE Our ice rink system, tested and certifi ed by the German technical inspection association TÜV, is ideal for mobile and fl exible uses. Here are a few examples: • Figure skating shows • Trade fair highlight • Municipal or private investors • Ice rinks for television and fi lm productions • Ice hockey, fi gure skating and curling clubs • Traditional ice rink rentals for Christmas markets • Sales promotion campaigns in shopping centres, furniture stores, car showrooms.... „Whether you‘re training or in a competition, ISS offers world championship standards for every occasion!“ Aljona Savchenko & Robin Szolkowy (5 x world champions and 4 x European champions) with their coach Ingo Steuer swear by ISS ice rinks! As inventors of EPDM technology for indirectly cooled ice rinks, we know exactly what our customers want and have developed our ICERACK® system with them in mind. With our mobile ice rinks we can create exciting arenas for you and your target group. We have the solution before you even recognise the problem! • At the end of the fi gure skating show you have 1,500 m2 of ice to clean in just 9 hours if you want to avoid paying an extra day’s rent for the hall? • You need ice for a Hollywood production with studio temperatures of almost 30°C? • You want to build the biggest mobile indoor ice rink in the world with an area of around 6,000 m2 ? • You want an open air ice rink in the summer for your TV show in tem- peratures of 26°C? • You’re organising a Winter Classic ice hockey match in compli- ance with the IIHF Rulebook? • An ice rink on the beach in Singapore? No problem, done it before! The list is nearly endless. We‘d rather have you present us an interesting project that is a really new challenge for us! FUNCTION AND QUALITY DASHER BOARD SYSTEMS We produce all the ICERACK® boards ourselves. They are tested and certifi ed by the German technical inspection association TÜV and can be installed as mobile or fi xed boards. Apart from user safety, quality and an attractive appearance, one of our top priorities during development work was to make them safe and easy to assemble.

  • Welcome to Oberstdorf
Welcome to Oberstdorf Dear Participants, dear Team Members, Officials and Guests, It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the 50th anniversary of our traditional “Nebelhorn-Trophy” in Oberstdorf. We are celebrating 50 years of uninterrupted high level skating performances with an unchanged format of the competition. The support of our friends worldwide, the trust of all international federations and the confidence of the ISU in our organization are what have made this anniversary possible in the first place. The event has been selected to host the “Official Olympic Qualification Event” for 3 times. In addition, for more than 20 years, it has been the place for the official ISU Judges’ Examination where judges from around the world can become ISU qualified judges in Figure Skating and Ice Dance. Oberstdorf has also been the event in which many important decisions were tested or created: new “Compulsory Dances”; the first official international event without Compulsory Figures; the try-out and implementation of the “New Judging System”; as well as many other tests with various ideas to compose the Panel of Judges. To honour this remarkable anniversary, we have organized a nice exhibition in the “Oberstdorf House”, showing the history of our event. We would like to encourage you to visit this display and see the pictures and exhibits of your great compatriots, who were the winners of our event. There are so many famous skaters and it would go beyond any available space, but just to mention some is the goal to go, e.g. Angelika and Erich Buck, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, Marina Klimova and Sergei Ponomarenko, Elena Valova and Oleg Vasiliev, Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov, Carolina Kostner, Debi Thomas, Dorothy Hamill, Todd Eldredge, Stephane Lambiel and Yuzury Hanyu and with the record of all, Aljona Savchenko, who has won the event 6 times with three different partners.

Pokal der Blauen Schwerter - Chemnitz / Germany - October 10 to 13, 2012 WELCOME The Deutsche Eislauf-Union e.V. (DEU) was forced to change the location of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating “45. Pokal der Blauen Schwerter” due to unforeseen circumstances which were not under our control from Dresden to Chemnitz. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to all participating ISU Members and event officials. The Deutsche Eislauf-Union e.V. (DEU), the Sächsischer Eissport-Verband e.V. (SEV) and the Local Organizing Committee, however, are looking very much forward to welcome the skating family in Chemnitz for the 45th edition of the Pokal der Blauen Schwerter. The Pokal der Blauen Schwerter in his 45th anniversary is one of the oldest international figure skating competitions in the ISU history and we are very proud that this year again this prestigious event is part of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating. We have enclosed various pieces of information which might be useful for you and for your preparation to attend this important event of the ISU calendar. THE AREA – THE CITY 1125 the German Zar Lothar founded a monastery at the place of the present city, named in these days Kamenitz. Situating on the crossing of two highly important routes, the salt route and the silver route the settlement grows rapidly and 1165 Kamenitz obtained from Zar Barbarossa the right to be called a city. The roots of industrial development of the city can be traced back to the 14th century with the later world famous taylors, the trade, the mining and the wooden artwork of the nearby mountain, the Erzgebirge.
