Our history is rich with esteemed alumni, traditions and it is listed on the United States Historical Site Registry. For many decades, Miami Senior High School has been at the forefront of excellence in both academics and athletic programs. The recognitions have been imprinted in our school District, State and National Archives. At Miami Senior High, we live by the words Non Verbis, Sed Operis, Not by words, by deeds. Our expectations are for our students to become global citizens and become active members of their communities. Miami Senior High strives to meet the demands of the 21st century and to empower each student with the confidence and knowledge to advance in the global community. I firmly believe that our students deserve a world-class education. Through our partnerships with neighboring colleges and universities, our magnet programs, technical programs, advanced placement and dual enrollment courses, our students have endless opportunities to maximize their time here at our school as they prepare for their futures. Together with our school District, we are ready to afford our students an opportunity to shine brilliantly and rise to the demands of this ever-changing world. I look forward to having a great school year and for all of you to become part of our Stingaree family. Sincerely, Benny Valdes Principal 8 MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT’S UNIVERSAL PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK MIAMI SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL School Mission Statement Every student will graduate with a plan that will enable him or her to become a life-long learner and a productive citizen.
