SPONSORSHIP PROSPECTUS About the Australian Patient Organisation Network (APON) Annual Conference 2019 The APON conference is being convened to support patient organisations strengthen their impact within the health sector through collaboration. This inaugural conference will unite politicians and non-profit charities in the health sector for a 2-day event to learn about key Federal policies and initiatives as well as showcase and explore the volume of work that is being conducted by health charities across all disease areas. This is the first event of its kind providing an opportunity for patient organisations to connect with policy makers, fellow health charities and other stakeholders and drivers for change. The aim is to forge collaboration and seek solutions to reduce duplication. The key themes for the APON Conference are: Collaboration: Providing a platform for non-profit organisations to learn more about the health system and what other organisations are doing so that they can more effectively collaborate with the various stakeholders. Support: Providing a platform for non-profit health organisations, that are often small and sometime isolated, to feel supported and valued Leadership: Providing a platform for non-profit health organisations to demonstrate their individual leadership in the health sector. APON will be a paperless event, adopting the Entegy conference app to host all venue information, speaker bios and program. Conference convenors The Centre for Community-Driven Research (CCDR) and the Australian Patient Organisation Standing Committee (APOSC) - a group of eight organisations including MS Australia, Unicorn Foundation, SMA Australia, hearts4heart, Muscular Dystrophy WA, Lymphoma Australia, Save Our Sons Duchenne Foundation and CCDR - developed the concept of holding an annual conference for all patient organisations in Australia. CCDR and the APOSC are proud to convene this inaugural Australian Patient Organisation Network conference.
