January 2019. Please note that not all airports are able to provide all the services on the price list (s). Please contact the relevant airport(s) (see p. 9) to make sure that the required services are available at this/these location (s)/airport(s). Working hours outside normal working hours will be invoiced with a minimum of 4 hours’ call to the applicable overtime payment. 1. Work Services 1.1 Rates (per hour) 1.1.1 Staff DKK 430,00 1.2 Overtime (per hour) 1.2.1 Regular overtime Mon-Sat DKK 618,00 1.2.2 Overtime Sun and holidays DKK 719,00 1.3 Mileage surcharge (per visit) 1.3.1 Mileage surcharge for service vehicle per task DKK 53,00 per hour 1.4 Traffic Office Work Outside Regular Working Hours (Without Opening) Where a customer demands that tasks be carried out by the airport’s TA/CA outside the airport’s regular working hours, for example (but not limited to), contacting passengers and providing information about changes to flight times or other aircraft-related info, customer shall send written purchase order for the respective task signed by an authorized person (an email from such person could also be used). Whereupon customer shall be invoiced for overtime in accordance with MIT’s price list in subsection 1.2 for each jour and part of an hour from the closure of the airport until the completion of the task. 1.5 Regarding Tasks Outside Airport’s Area Non-airport-related tasks that are requested to be performed outside the area of the airport, e.g. tasks at the dock, shall always require an individual prior agreement with an individual price and terms, which shall be arranged and accepted before task ca/shall be performed. The lease agreement may be terminated by either party at three months’ notice. The owner may terminate the agreement on the grounds of non-compliance with the conditions mentioned above. Before termination, the owner must, however, have presented the advertiser with a warning in writing, asking to have the issue taken care of.

    NOVEMBER 2018 H E I N E M A N N 3589 An Aircraft-Based Study of Strong Gap Flows in Nares Strait, Greenland GÜNTHER HEINEMANN Department of Environmental Meteorology, University of Trier, Trier, Germany (Manuscript received 16 May 2018, in final form 29 August 2018) ABSTRACT Gap flows and the stable boundary layer were studied in northwest Greenland during the aircraft-based Investigation of Katabatic Winds and Polynyas during Summer (IKAPOS) experiment in June 2010. The measurements were performed using the research aircraft POLAR 5 of Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI; Bremerhaven). Besides navigational and basic meteorological instrumentation, the aircraft was equipped with radiation and surface temperature sensors and a turbulence measurement system. In the area of Smith Sound at the southern end of the Nares Strait, a stable, but fully turbulent, boundary layer with strong winds of 2 up to 22 m s 1 was found during conditions of synoptically induced northerly winds through the Nares Strait. Strong surface inversions were present in the lowest 100–200 m. As a consequence of channeling effects, a well-pronounced low-level jet system was documented for each of four flights. The wind maximum is located at 20–50-km distance from the exit of Smith Sound. The 3D boundary layer structure past this gap is studied in detail. The channeling process is consistent with gap flow theory. The flow through the gap and over the surrounding mountains leads to the lowering of isotropic surfaces and the acceleration of the flow. The orographically channeled flow through Smith Sound plays a key role for the formation of the North Water polynya being the largest ice-producing polynya in the Arctic.
