The eastern coast stretches from the Ganga delta in the north to Kanyakumari in the south. The northern part of the eastern coastal plain is called the Northern Circars and the southern part is called the Coromandal coast. There are about 293 small and big islands in this group. 15. Port Blair is the capital of this group of islands. 16. The Southern tip of the islands is called the Indira Point. This is the southernmost point of India. 17. The Lakshadweep islands are group of 36 coral islands in the Arabian Sea. 18. Lakshadweep stretches about 32 sq. km. It is the smallest Union territories of India. 19. Kavaratti is the capital of Lakshadweep.
