Seechem Lodge Pages.indd 1 05/01/2021 15:57 This beautifully presented and sympathetically renovated property offers the following accommodation: A spacious reception hall with a guest wc and the first of two staircases in the property, from here you can access the generous study with delightful rural views. I also fell in love with the grounds, which are just beautiful, and the wonderful old character of the house itself.” “The house was definitely in need of a large amount of TLC when I bought it. Internally it was very old, and whilst I was keen to retain a lot of the original features, I also wanted to modernise the living area for family time and socialising. An awful lot of work has been done. Among other things, we knocked through the kitchen/ diner to create a large open-plan area, and the downstairs washroom was also removed to create more space in the kitchen – it’s now the real heart of the house. We installed underfloor heating throughout the downstairs, which is operated by a digital system that creates a better and more efficient way of heating the house, and we added bi-fold doors to the side of the property, which offer extensive views of the countryside and garden from the comfort of the kitchen/diner. In short, the whole house has been renovated from top to bottom to create a warm and spacious family home that I’d say now has an incredibly welcoming atmosphere.” “The gardens and grounds are absolutely stunning and completely envelop the whole house. Most of our family time is spent at the rear of the property where there is approximately an acre of garden, a large patio for BBQs and socialising, and loads of room for children to play in. There are also many areas to potter around in, which I love because I’m really quite green-fingered, and we have a particularly magnificent tree that has to be around three hundred years old, which is a gorgeous feature. The grounds are outstanding and something that I’ll really miss when the house is sold.” “The beautiful new kitchen is definitely one of my favourite rooms. It has all the latest technology so it’s a very functional space, but it’s also great for family time and socialising.” “What I love most about the location is the fact that it has a lovely village feel, it’s very peaceful and picturesque, but at the same time the property is within close proximity of local amenities, the airport and the train station.” “What makes the property so unique is that it effortlessly combines original features with a modern living approach. To top it all, it’s set in a beautiful location and has extensive private grounds that I’ve always considered to be a little slice of paradise.” I will miss everything about Seecham Lodge,” says the owner. “I wish I could pick up the whole property and take it with me to my new location. I hope its new owners will love it every bit as much as I do.”* * These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property. With open fields surrounding the property and spectacular views of rolling hills and beautiful countryside beyond, Seechem Lodge is truly blessed with its stunning views. The gardens and grounds that surround the property are equally as impressive. Offering an acre in total with large lawned areas, some fabulous mature trees, shrubs and well-tended beds, creates an almost park like feel to the gardens. To the one side is a charming stone ornamental pond with a centre island and as you proceed up the wide stone steps to the lawned grounds there is a lovely summer house, together with a green house and storage shed. The wide spacious terrace offers the perfect place for alfresco dining and entertaining and to the top of the long private driveway, with ample parking, are two large double garages. The village centre is a designated conservation area and host to a number of listed buildings originating from the 15th century. The parish church of St Laurence is listed grade II. The parish is host to good transport links of all types including (by road) the north/south A441 and the east/west M42, (by rail) the Redditch/Lichfield cross-city service, and (by canal) the Worcester Worcestershire canal. The river Arrow flows from its source in the nearby Lickey Hills through the parish and out towards Alcester. The village is comprehensively served with a wide range of numerous amenities and highly regarded schooling. These include village stores, Post Office, pubs, takeaway restaurants and a number of professional services. Residents can choose to be involved in a variety of community activities and sports within a lively atmospheric village personified by an active Parish Council and thriving football club. Close by is also the village of Barnt Green that encapsulates an intoxicating mix of accessibility and lifestyle in a village that retains a timeless charm. Blessed with a full range of local amenities, including a bustling shopping area, destination pubs and sports and recreational facilities, doctor’s surgery, two churches, a dentist and St Andrews Primary School. Barnt Green also gives its name to both long-established cricket clubs and sailing clubs. This thriving settlement, established as a result of the coming of the railways during the reign of Queen Victoria, has evolved as a result of its wonderful setting in the hills of North Worcestershire and its proximity for easy commuting to the second city providing direct services to Birmingham New Street where direct trains connect to London Euston and a range of important commercial centres within central England. In addition to the “Cross-City” railway line (Redditch to Lichfield, via Birmingham Grand Central), the village is strategically positioned for ready access to the “Greater” Birmingham motorway network that embraces the M42, M5, M6 and M6 Toll. Junction 2 of the M42 is 2 miles away. This enables fast onward travel to London and the South East and Birmingham International Airport, now an internationally recognised hub for travel to most major European cities as well as Asia and North America. Birmingham International Train Station offers commuting times of just over an hour to London Euston. The regional centres of Bromsgrove, Redditch, Stratford-upon-Avon, Solihull and Central Birmingham are easily accessible, as is Junction 2 of the M42. The M5 is just a few miles to the west whilst it is only about 9 miles to the top of the M40, the principal route to London from the West Midlands.
