Also, before using this software, please select in the HOME Menu and carefully review content in "Health and Safety Information." It contains important information that will help you enj oy this software.

You should also thoroughly read your Operations Manual, including the "Health and Safety Information" section, before using this software.

In this game, you get to cast your favorite Mii™ characters in the main roles! You'll be given the chance to do this at key points in the game, such as when you enter a new location or a new character is introduced. If you ever change your mind about your cast members, you can change them by selecting Menu → Records → Journal → Mii Cast.

1. Select the Role You Want to Change Select the role you want to change from Mii Cast.

2. Choose a Mii to Take the Role Select from Autoassign, Select a Mii, Create new Mii, and Read QR Code. If you choose Select a Mii, you can use a Mii from Mii Central, Mii Maker, the ™ game, or your friend list. ♦ In order to use a Mii from Tomodachi Life, you need Tomodachi Life extra data on the SD Card in your Nintendo 3DS system. Mii Central Choose from Mii characters created by other users and received via SpotPass communication (p. 3). Search (Internet) With an Internet connection, you can search for Mii characters created by other people.

3. Choose a Name

Once you've named the Mii in-game, the role will be assigned. 3 SpotPass

Activating the SpotPass™ feature allows you to automatically receive Mii characters created by other people that you can use freely in your game. Variety is the spice of life! ♦ Data received through SpotPass will be saved to the SD Card. If the SD Card is not inserted, SpotPass will not launch.

SpotPass Settings You can configure your SpotPass settings when launching the game for the first time. You can also activate or deactivate SpotPass from Options on the title screen. ♦ SpotPass automatically works when the system is turned on and has an Internet connection.

Posting Mii Characters

You can select Post from within Party or Mii Cast in the menu to post one of your own Mii characters. A posted Mii can be used by other players in their games. ♦ You cannot post the following types of Mii characters: ・ A Mii downloaded from Mii Central ・ A Special Mii ・ An edited Mii received from someone else

Questionnaires

You can take a questionnaire once per day. Any answers you give will be used to help decide which Mii characters will be distributed through SpotPass. ♦ Questionnaire replies will automatically be sent to Nintendo. ♦ If SpotPass is not activated, you will not receive questionnaires. 4 Menu

Party Here you can see information about your current party members. If you select Details, you can see their stats (p. 6). If you select Change, you can change aspects such as a Mii character's name and appearance.

QR Code You can save a Mii character's QR Code® to the SD Card.

Mii Maker You can copy a Mii from your team to Mii Maker.

Stuff Change the weapon, hat, and clothes a Mii is currently using. In Edit appearance, you can change the appearance of clothes and equipment without changing the Mii character's stats. You can change the combination of hat and clothes and also remove the hat.

Records View photos (p. 9) you've taken and watch your recent battles again. You can also recast Mii characters (p. 2) by selecting Mii Cast from Journal. 5 Quitting and Saving

Select Save and quit from the menu to quit the game. ♦ There are points during the game when you cannot select Save and quit.

Saving Data

The game will save automatically as it progresses. If you quit the game without selecting Save and quit, then the game will restart at the last autosave point, but it's recommended that you select Save and quit.

Deleting Data Select Options on the title screen, and delete your save data by selecting Delete save data. ♦ Data cannot be restored once deleted, so be careful. ♦ Photos and QR Code patterns saved to the SD Card will not be deleted. Data can be l ost due to user acti on, suc h as repe ate dl y powering off and on the system or removing a Game Card or SD Card while saving. Data loss may al so be c ause d by poo r connectivity due to dirt or dust in the system's ports. Please be aware that in these cases data cannot be restored.

Warning I f yo u use a di ffere nt Nintendo 3DS system or SD Card with the same Game Card, you may not be able to access your save data. If you change the date and time of the system, certain events may not be displayed. 6 Viewing Stats

Stats indicate a Mii character's strengths. You can view your team's stats by selecting Details from within the Party menu.

Mii information The personality, job, and current level of a Mii. Stat source and value The column gives the stats conferred by a Mii character's job, the column gives stat changes earned from eating grub, and the column gives the stat changes gained from the currently equipped outfit and weapon. The totals are listed in the right-hand column.

Stats table This is general stamina. It decreases when HP damage is taken, and if it reaches 0, the Mii will be unable to fight. This decreases as MP magical spells or skills are used. This affects the damage meted out Attack to enemies when attacking with weapons. This affects the strength of magical Magic attacks and healing spells. This affects the amount of damage Defense taken from enemies. This determines the Speed order of action. 7 Battling Better

During battle, you'll be given the chance to choose a command for your protagonist Mii when his or her turn comes around. The other members of your team will act automatically. ♦ If you select Autobattle, your protagonist Mii will act automatically as well.

Team stats From top to bottom, this displays a Mii character's name, the recovery items they're holding, their current level, and their HP and MP gauges. Battle menu You can press  during battle to display this menu. Here you can use Sprinkles and the Safe Spot or escape from the battle. ♦ Sprinkles and the Safe Spot will be unlocked as the game progresses.

Using Sprinkles

Using Sprinkles on your team can restore HP and MP or even restore fallen team members to battle readiness.

The Safe Spot

If a team member is in trouble, you can put them in the Safe Spot. Slide them to the Safe Spot, and enemies won't be able to target them. They'll automatically recover HP and MP and shake off any status conditions.

8 Beefing Up Your Party

Battling for Strength

Defeating enemies nets you EXP, which increases your characters' levels, improves their stats, and lets them learn new techniques. If you find you're fighting enemies that are too tough to beat, it might help to go back to previous locations and fight weaker enemies to raise your characters' levels.

A Good Night's Sleep Staying at inns gives you the chance to distribute your loot among the team and get a good square meal. Spending Gold Giving gold to team members with an eye for spending can reap many rewards--they might come back with stronger weapons or outfits or useful recovery items.

Eating Grub

Serving up grub to your team members will raise their stats according to the effects of whichever food you give them. Each Mii has their own personal tastes, which boosts the effects of their favorite foods and diminishes the effects of their disliked foods. Ge tting to Know One Another Putting team members in the same room will help them get to know each other. The more friendly they become, the more new assist moves they'll learn together. ♦ Teammates can become friendlier in battle and during adventures as well.

Taking Photos Touch on the touch screen to take a photo. You can press  +  to take a screenshot of the upper screen and  +  to take a screenshot of the touch screen. Photos can be viewed from Records in the menu by selecting Album. ♦ As photos are saved to the SD Card, they can also be viewed in the Nintendo 3DS Camera application.

Got amiibo? You can touch your amiibo figures to the NFC area to show a certain character your amiibo, and get special outfits as rewards.

♦ Only one software's game data can be saved on an amiibo at a time. In order to create new game data on an amiibo that has existing data from another game, you must first delete the existing game data. To delete your game data, open on the HOME Menu and then reset the data under amiibo Settings. ♦ An amiibo can be read by multiple compatible software titles. ♦ If you cannot restore corrupted data for an amiibo, open on the HOME Menu and then reset the data under amiibo Settings.

Precaution about amiibo ● Just a light touch on the lower screen is enough for the system to detect your amiibo. Do not press the amiibo into the screen or forcefully drag it across the screen. 11 Online Features
