Esterházy Palace, once a residence of great magnates and now a striking landmark at the heart of Burgenland’s capital Eisenstadt, is one of ’s most beautiful Baroque palaces. Today it is a museum, a venue for cultural events, a research centre, and also houses part of the Esterházy dynasty’s unique private collection. Be inspired at the place where Lord Nelson listened to the music of Joseph Haydn and appreciate rooms that have stories to tell.

Haydn Hall Historical venue and festival forum

In the second half of the 17th century, Prince Paul I commissioned this Baroque banqueting hall and its lavish frescoes. In the 20th century, the “Great Hall” was rena- med Haydn Hall and, boasting superb acoustics and deco- ration, it is now regarded as a jewel among concert halls worldwide.

In 2020 the Haydn Hall will again provide a breathtaking setting for the concert series classic.Esterhazy and for the HERBSTGOLD – Autumn Festival in Eisenstadt, which will fill the hall with music from 9 to 20 September. Austrian and international musicians as well as guests from all over the world are impressed by this unique combina- tion of musical highlights and magnificent decoration and architecture.
