PETER BJORN AND JOHN BIOGRAPHY 2019 It's hard to survive in the music business, but Peter Bjorn and John have done that and then some. The Swedish indie-pop trio have been triumphing via their pitch-perfect alchemy of varying sounds and styles for two decades now, and their ninth album Endless Dream is but the latest proof of the unique creative chemistry that Peter Morén, Björn Yttling, and John Eriksson have successfully worked with for so long. Every PB&J album sounds like falling in love with music for the first time, and the deceptively light confections contained on Endless Dream is the trio's latest romance. PB&J's history dates back to Morén meeting Yttling in high school, as the two dipped in and out of bands with others before deciding to get serious on their own. After auditioning for drummers, the pair discovered Eriksson in an unlikely bit of luck: "We never thought John would fit the bill because he was a classical percussionist," Morén remembers. "But we started seeing him at Sebadoh and Elliott Smith shows, so we thought maybe he was into pop music as well." The trio's first album, 2002's self-titled debut, was made on the cheap in their apartments with cracked production software that Yttling had acquired: "The recording was pretty quick. We didn't have any money at all," Morén recalls. "It was a very creative and fun period, with no pressure from anyone." 2004's Falling Out was a bit of a more considered affair, including studio time logged with the Hives' producer Pelle Gunnerfeldt.

Brother Leo Bio Where does Ola end and Brother Leo begin? “It's a question that's been rattling around in the constantly whirring mind of the Grammy nominated Swedish artist for a while, and like all good pop mysteries, may never be solved. “Brother Leo means freedom. The name comes from a reoccurring dream I had as a kid. In the dream I had a twin brother, he was a free spirit, brave, confident and always had the answers to everything. He had superpowers and his name was Leo”. A highly respected songwriter and producer in his own right, Ola Svensson has been reborn, ready to take on the world with an impressive array of songs and emotions, as Brother Leo. “The whole idea behind creating the alias was to provide an honest and creative place that forced me outside of my comfort zone. qs109 Lp/Cd out 4/8/08 A brief history of a full life: Peter Morén was born and raised in a little village named Vika in a region of Sweden called Dalarna. At the time, Dalarna was a landscape full of horses, mopeds, ski slopes and ice hockey, but not much music. What little music there was consisted of heavy metal or traditional fiddle-based folk music, both of which had strong followings. Guided by his grandfather’s tastes, Peter took to the latter – until he picked up his mother’s out-of-tune guitar at the age of 10 to learn a few basic chords Tim Hardin, Bert Jansch, Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci, Yo La Tengo, with the express aim of writing pop songs in English. Although Leonard Cohen, Brian Eno, John Cale, Caetano Veloso, Robyn his English was fairly rudimentary, he quickly progressed, Hitchcock and The Go-Betweens – to name a few. taking cues from influences such as The Beatles, Byrds, Beach Boys, Kinks, and, for the sake of modernity, The The lyrics are reminiscent of past efforts, although more Housemartins and A-Ha (this was 1986 after all).
