Purpose:

It is the purpose of this policy to establish job duties/requirements of the CORPORAL.

Procedure:

I. Chain of Command A. The Patrol Corporal will report to the Patrol Sergeant or in his/her absence report to the Administrative or Under Sheriff.

II. Supervision of the Patrol A. Direct supervisor of Patrol Deputies 1. Conducts performance evaluations and disciplinary actions when necessary on Patrol Deputies

B. Overall command of assigned Shift Operations

Ill. Scheduling A. The Patrol will work in conjunction with the Patrol Sergeant to ensure that there is sufficient staffing B. Initial scheduling of all training and time off requests, which are then forwarded up the chain of command

IV. Incident report review/management A. The Patrol Corporals are responsible for reviewing reports and ensuring reports are being reviewed for content, spelling, grammar. B. The Patrol Corporals will assist the Patrol Sergeant to ensure that a report audit is conducted bi-annually and that reports are being completed, and the investigations are being closed properly.

V. Patrol A Responds to calls for service
