World-renowned Jazz Vocalist DIANNE REEVES performs ‘ChristmasTime is Here’ at The National Concert Hall

The pre-eminent jazz vocalist of our time and four-time Grammy Award winner Dianne Reeves returns to The National Concert Hall on Wednesday 30 November 2011, 8pm to perform an unforgettable and special themed concert entitled ‘Christmas Time is Here’.

Accompanied by her band Reeves will entertain Irish audiences with jazz renditions of holiday favourites such as Little Drummer Boy, Carol of the Bells Christmas Waltz, I’ll be Home for Christmas, Let it Snow and many more.

Reeves has won the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance for each of her last three recordings: A Little Moonlight in 2003, The Calling in 2001 and In The Moment- Live in Concert in 2000. She is the only recording artist in any singing category to have accomplished such a feat of three records in a row. In 2006, Dianne Reeves went on to yet again garner the award for a fourth record-breaking time for best jazz vocal album for her soundtrack to the film Good Night, and Good Luck which featured .

Reeves began 2011 performing at the White House State Dinner for the President of China, Hu Jintao and later in April she performed at the 120th Anniversary Gala of Carnegie Hall, New York. Hosted by and featuring James Taylor, the evening also included such notable guests as Barbara Cook, Steve Martin, Bette Midler, Sting and former president Bill Clinton.

Since the release of her most recent recording When You Know, in 2008 Reeves has been touring the world in a variety of contexts including Sing the Truth a musical celebration of which also featured Liz Wright and Angelique Kidjo. In 2007 Reeves was featured in an award-winning documentary on the all-too-brief life of Billy Strayhorn.

Reeves has also recorded and performed extensively with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Centre Jazz Orchestra as well as with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daniel Barenboim and was a featured soloist with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic. Reeves was the first Creative Chair for Jazz for the and the first singer to ever perform at the famed Walt Disney Concert Hall.

In 2002, Reeves performed at the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in . She also received the ‘Ella Fitzgerald Award’ at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, released a career-spanning compilation CD on Blue Note, The Best of Dianne Reeves and was featured on the season finale of HBO's “Sex & the City”.
