As a professional organization, it is our thrust to collaborate with the LGUs when it comes to local development projects of towns and cities. Hence, to realize this goal, paying courtesy visits to the Office of the Mayor is now the trend practiced by local chapters of the UAP. This activity is part of our advocacy to promote the implementation of RA 926 and the revised Building Code of 2005 (which recognize the importance of architects in nation building and development). The United Architects of the Philippines Daraga Cagsawa Chapter’s visit proved to be very promising when Hon. Victor U. Perete, Municipality Mayor of Daraga warmly welcomed us in his office and expressed his support to our laid matters concerning the progress of Daraga specifically the role and services that architects from UAP DCC can offer for the benefit of his constituents

Furthermore, to show our genuine commitment to his endeavor for “VICTORY in Daraga”, our chapter created an acronym for the PERETE administration in partnership and collaboration with the UAP Daraga Cagsawa Chapter:

UAP DCC supports Mayor Partnership on

Environmental Recreational Educational & Tourism Establishments in the Municipality of DARAGA.

Former Councilor Architect Joseph M. Espinas, the Founding president of UAP DCC and Past District Director B5 recalls some of his drafted resolutions for the development of Daraga, .

She was quoted in her Facebook post saying, “The rest of us did not make it to be there but our spirit was. Again, I am proud of UAP DCC, Mabuhay kita gabos!” She apologized for not being able to make it because of the bad weather condition bulletin posted by PAG-ASA. UAP DCC members agreed with her decision for the safety of everyone. The chance to visit the Rodeo Capital of the Philippines was truly a missed opportunity for at least more than 30 confirmed attendees from the UAP DCC who could have made the night more memorable if not for the bad weather. BUT there would always be second chances for everything as we keep moving forward!

From the Inaugural Speech of Chapter President Ar. Ma. Madonna Lourdes J. Maravillas, … “AND I as go on with this journey, I seek SUPPORT from you my fellow UAP DCCeans. I am truly inspired to see our chapter GROWING not just in QUANTITY but QUALITY. Cooperation, unity and devotion indeed is the key. We should always look up and pay respect to our seniors for their unending guidance and support. We are NOT in competition though with our sibling chapters in B5, BUT competition is a GOOD factor that fosters this thing we call COLLABORATION. Every chapter when imbued with HUMILITY and keep on setting goals always has a way to win gracefully and avoid passive aggression. Of course, one year is just too short a time to realize our dreams and goals for our chapter, so I hope and I pray to God that He guide me to make this year a successful one not only to our chapter but to the whole District B5 and to the UAP National. To our mother chapter, the UAP Legazpi Chapter and all UAP SIBLING Chapters for B5, let us stand UNITED and be ONE because we have the same goals, same purpose and same objectives…”
