RECOMMENDATIONS:

A. That the City Council designate the unnumbered location situated one sidewalk square southerly of and between numbered locations 82a and 83A as shown on Sheet 11 of Plan D-13788 for the Hollywood Walk ofFarne for the installation ofthe name of Julia Louis-Dreyfus at 6250 Hollywood Boulevard.

B. Inform the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce of the Council's action on this matter.

C. That this report be adopted prior to the date of the ceremony on May 4, 2010.

DISCUSSION:

The Walk ofFame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has submitted a request for insertion into the the name of Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 11:30 a.m.

The communicant's request is in accordance with City Council action of October 18, 1978, under Council File No. 78-3949. Following the Council's action of approval, and upon proper application and payment of the required fee, an installation permit can be secured at 201 N. Figueroa Street, 3rd Floor, Counter 23".

The Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has approved the below listed name for insertion into the Hollywood Walk of Fame:

JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS - (Category -TELEVISION) Requested star location to be 6250 Hollywood Boulevard in front of TheW Hotel on the South/West corner of Hollywood & Vine. The star for JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS will be placed in the second row next to the original row closest to the property. The stars situated in the original row where star is near are WARREN HILL (82a) to the east, and ERNEST SCHOEDSACH (83A) to the west. According to sheet# 11 plan 13788,JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS' star has no designated number. The dedication ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at 11:30 a.m.

JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS

Julia Louis-Dreyfus earned worldwide acclaim and recognition for her portrayal of Elaine Benes in the hit NBC series "." She received an Emmy award, a Golden Globe award, five Screen Actors Guild awards, and four American Awards during the show's nine-year run.

Louis-Dreyfus currently stars on CBS' hit comedy "The New Adventures of Old Christine." In 2006, she won an Emmy for her portrayal of Christine Campbell and was nominated in the category of "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series" in 2007, 2008 and 2009. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe and SAG award in 2007 and received an additional SAG award nomination in · 2009. "The New Adventures of Old Christine" comes from Creator/Executive Producer Kari Lizer ("Will and Grace"), and reunites Louis-Dreyfus with "Seinfeld" director/producer Andy Ackerman.

Her other television credits include multiple appearances on "Seinfeld" co-creator Larry David's show "" on HBO, a recurring role on Matt Groening's "" on FOX, a recurring role in 2003 on Fox's critically acclaimed "Arrested Development," NBC's 2002 real-time sitcom 'Watching Ellie," and the TNT animated film "Animal Farm" to which she lent her voice alongside I an Holm, and Patrick Stewart. Louis-Dreyfus first made her mark on television during a three-year stint (1982-1985) on "" opposite the likes of , Christopher Guest and Eddie· Murphy. She subsequently hosted the show twice, becoming the first female former cast member to return as host.

Feature film credits include 's animated hit "A Bug's Life,"; 's Academy-award winning "," with and Michael Caine; Allen's "Deconstructing Harry," with ; 's "North;" Ivan Reitman's "Fathers' Day" with and Billy Crystal; and "Jack the Bear" with Danny DeVito and Gary Sinise.

Louis-Dreyfus is a committed and steadfast defender of the environment. She serves as a member on the leadership council for the Natural Resource Defense Council (NRDC) as well as on the Board of Directors of Heal the Bay and on the Honorary Board of Heal the Ocean. She studied theater at Northwestern University where she was also a recipient of a Doctor of Arts in 2007. HOLLYWOOD, CA.-A new group of entertainers in motion pictures, television, live theater, and recording have been selected to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it was announced today by the Walk of Fame Committee of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. These individuals were chosen from among hundreds of nominations to the committee at a meeting held June 15, and ratified by the Chamber's Board of Directors.
