After watching one night, he decided he needed a Corvette. He called Cheyenne, WY to the Chevy dealer to see if they had one. They said that they had one--a white with red interior. He drove to Cheyenne from Rawlins, WY and bought the car. He now had Corvette fever. Four years later he sold it to his brother and always kicked himself for not keeping it. 2013 SACC Red River Chapter Cruise In 2004 we decided we needed a Corvette again. We saw on the internet there was one for sale in Tampa, FL. So, we drove down and looked at it, but it was not what we wanted. In 2005 my daughter sent a “Corvette Trader” magazine. We saw there was one in Pennsylvania. They said on the scale of 1 to 10 it was a “9”. So we flew to Pennsylvania. Again, not what Bobby wanted. He thought the car was about a “4”. So we flew back to Cincinatti, Ohio, and took a commuter plane to Napolean, Ohio to the Pro Team Shops. They had several Corvettes. We looked at three; a 1961 like Tom Lainson’s, a 1962 and a 1959. Mary decided she liked the ‘59, so we bought it. After lots of problems with the engine, we took it to Carr’s Corvettes & Customs and had him build a custom engine. It’s a 365 horsepower, 350 lb. torque. While waiting on the engine, Carr showed us some custom seats, which we had to have, air conditioner and we had to have new carpet inside. Bobby thought it was done, but not quite-- front disc brakes. Then he thought the paint job was too cracked, so he took it to the paint shop. While there he saw the guy doing a pen striping, so Bobby decided he needed that done, plus new glass inside the door panels. This is what we have now. I guess I’m done as Mary took away my debit card. 4 Lakeview Lodge @ Beavers Bend Resort Park (located on Broken Bow Lake on Stevens Gap Road) Beavers Bend Resort Park includes Beavers Bend State Park.
