Land and Resource Management Plan Preface Crooked River National Grassland August 1989 The Crooked River National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan (Grassland Plan) was prepared in compliance with 36 CFR 219, based on the Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Planning Act (RPA) as amended by the National Forest Management Act of 1976, and in compliance with 40 CFR 1500 based on the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. Because the Plan is a major Federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment, an environmental impact statement (EIS) was pre- pared The Plan provides direction for implementing the preferred alternative selected in the EIS. If any particular provision of this Grassland Plan, or the application of the action to any person or circumstance,is found to beinvalid, the remainder of the Forest Plan and the application of that provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected. It describes re- source management practices, levels of resource production and management, and availability and suitability of lands for resource management.
