New Research from Dr. Martens Highlights Cold Feet As Top Grumble of Outdoor Workers Press Release Got cold feet? New research from Dr. Martens highlights cold feet as top grumble of outdoor workers New research conducted by iconic footwear brand Dr. Martens, reveals that cold feet are the biggest bugbear amongst tradesmen and women working outdoors. Despite wearing safety footwear, 65 percent of tradespeople surveyed cited cold feet as their top problem, with wet feet (40 percent) and bacterial infections such as athlete’s foot amongst the other nasties thought to be the worst side effects for those exposed to the elements. Of the 420 tradesmen and women surveyed working in industries such as construction, logistics and heavy manufacturing, half spend at least 50 percent of their time working outdoors. In the UK, as in many other countries, there is no legal maximum or minimum outdoor working temperature. Whilst employers are responsible for providing adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to protect employees during extreme weather, three quarters of workers surveyed actually take responsibility for selecting their own safety footwear. Commenting on the research, Jon Marchant, Global Category Manager at Airwair International Ltd - Dr. Martens said: “To keep safe, warm and dry when outdoors, industrial workers should really invest in quality protective footwear. You should always check first that they meet current EN and ISO safety standards and then look for features that are going to help keep your feet warm and comfortable in the tough conditions you may be working in..” Designed to safeguard outdoor workers, Dr. Martens has launched its new fully waterproof collection this February in three styles; TURBINE ST, SURGE ST and TORRENT ST. Particularly suitable for outdoor workers enduring prolonged exposure to the cold weather, the TORRENT ST is a fully waterproof, insulated, non-metallic, safety boot featuring, antistatic properties, composite safety toe cap and Smartmask® puncture resistant midsole. The full S3 specification boot also has the added benefit of a Smartmask® PU cushioned footbed and additional toe protection. The fully waterproof, non-metallic TURBINE ST safety rigger boot and SURGE ST safety boot also feature antistatic properties, composite safety toe cap and Smartmask® puncture resistant midsole. These full S3 specification boots also have the added benefit of a Smartmask® PU cushioned footbed and additional toe protection. For an added layer of warmth and a great fit, Dr. Martens also supplies specialist Doc’s Socks which feature padded terry cloth around the heel, ankle and underfoot for comfort. Dr. Martens has drawn on over half a century of boot making experience for its Industrial Range of footwear. Technology has developed considerably over the last few decades but the premise for what is required has remained the same: comfort, protection and durability. Available in UK sizes 6 to 13, the range is available at www.drmartens.com/Industrial. -Ends- ABOUT DR. MARTENS Throughout Dr. Martens history, the brand has been adopted and subverted by countless rebellious characters, subcultures and tribes. These are the people who stand out from the crowd in their own unique way and for many, their journey of self-expression has always been accompanied by a pair of Doc’s. Dr. Martens celebrates these free-thinking individuals – from first time wearers to those who have been with the brand forever. These are the authentic characters that stand for something. Dr. Martens air-cushioned sole, designed by German inventor, Dr. Klaus Maertens, was engineered primarily to meet the specific need of providing additional support and comfort for his broken foot. The Dr. Martens boot, that was then manufactured by R Griggs and Co, British boot makers, with its trademark yellow stitch, grooved sole and heel-loop, was a boot for workers, initially worn by postmen and policemen; comfortable, durable and lightweight in comparison to its competitors at the time. A specific range of “Made In England” products are still manufactured in the Cobbs Lane factory, Wollaston, England which has been making footwear since 1901. It is the home of the original Dr. Martens boot and within this small factory works a close-knit team of people schooled in traditional shoe-making and the unique process that makes Dr. Martens like no other shoe on earth. This is the factory where it all began; where the first pair of Dr. Martens boots rolled off the production line on April 1st, 1960. The manufacturing process has been fine-tuned and perfected ever since - from the cutting of the leather hides to the heat-sealing with a blade of fire that welds the air-cushioned sole to the upper. • A Boutique's PPP Success Story
MAY 21 , 2020 A Boutique’s PPP Success Story: ‘Great Piece of Mind’ While many small firms have complained that they received no assistance from the Small Business Administration, Peter Ariz, managing partner of South Florida boutique Ariz Law, said the loan has made all the difference for his 11 employees. It all happened so fast. In mid-February, Peter Ariz was in New York City to see an Eagles concert. By mid-March, Ariz and his small boutique firm—Ariz Law—were driven out of their office after somebody in their building tested positive for the novel coronavirus, watching as state and federal courts shut down, deals slowed and each week brought more illness and death. March was defined by the sudden proliferation of state-by-state orders forcing businesses across industries to close in an effort to stem the alarming transmission of the novel coronavirus. The closures, which have been successful in saving thousands of lives, have also decimated the economy. The economic effects of the pandemic became very real to Ariz when he spent an entire weekend with a corporate client helping decide how to furlough half of that company’s 300-employee workforce. “They’re having to make some very difficult decisions and those are challenges that I saw early on,” Ariz said. Travel restrictions ground many international deals to a halt, Ariz said, with international work accounting for about 40% of his matters. Probate cases have been jammed up in overloaded dockets, and the devaluation of assets following the spectacular crash of the stock market has given many clients cold feet.

  • Britbox Stars Talk About What Tv Moved, Amused and Inspired Them
BRITBOX STARS TALK ABOUT WHAT TV MOVED, AMUSED AND INSPIRED THEM JAMES NESBITT The Cold Feet actor’s top picks on BritBox: ● Cracker ● Prime Suspect ● Boys From The Blackstuff ● Black Adder ● Fawlty Towers ● The Good Life ● The Two Ronnies ● The Young Ones “The notion of being part of a new platform that really does try and bring different genres together but all underscored by a certain quality is very exciting.” Is there anything you watched growing up that you have great memories of? I first really recall, in terms of drama, Boys From The Blackstuff. I thought it was just extraordinary. And The Monocled Mutineer. A lot of those programmes really gripped me. I also grew up watching a lot of comedy with my mum actually. Fawlty Towers was must see. I was quite young for that but I immediately understood the absurdity, the pain of it, the farce. The Two Ronnies I used to love. My mum actually looked a bit like Ronnie Corbett which was a bit odd! I also grew up watching sport and still love Match of The Day. To grow up on all those dramas and now to be part of it has been one of the great journeys to be honest. Can you tell us why you were interested in getting involved in the launch of BritBox? Television has been very, very good to me. I’ve been working for a long time now. I’m one of those people who people think is the youngest on set but I’m by far the oldest! I’ve been working since I left drama school in 1988.

This is the conviction of Amparito Farrar, the young American soprano, who returned last week from a four months' tour of the American camps in France. Appearing for the Overseas Theater League, Miss Farrar went to France last August, and from that time until a few days before the armistice was signed she was on "active service" well up toward the fighting front. In fact, Miss Farrar got much closer to the front than military red tape per mitted, for one day-through the kind ness of a colonel who knew when to turn his back-she made a trip over the J offre highway through the Vosges country, and looked down for a f ew breathless moments at the German lines. "There were their trenches, apparent ly such a tiny distance away, as we looked down from the highway," sh e re lates, "and over on this side were our men, with the countryside lying as serenely as if war were unknown.. It struck me as so unreal, and to heighten this effect there were cows grazing as contentedly as though shrapnel and ma chine gun bullets were t hings of another world.
