The directory provides access to an extensive network of neighborhood groups and community associations with varied and valuable experiences to share. The Neighborhood Preservation & Revitalization Division uses the directory as a formal neighborhood mailing list. Mailings include notices of special events, such as the annual Orange County Community Conference, monthly Community Connections Workshops, informational guides, Neighborhood Pride Grant information, newsletters, important emergency response information, public notices (re-zonings, road construction projects, etc.), and more. If your neighborhood is within Orange County (all unincorporated and incorporated areas) and you would like to include your neighborhood organization in the printed directory and/or the mailing database, simply complete the registration form located in the back of this publication or at our website online: www.ocfl .net/neighborhoods. Please contact our offi ce to provide comments or concerns regarding this directory. We are always open to suggestions for improvement. Your comments will help us continue to provide valuable and benefi cial materials to the residents and neighborhood leaders of Orange County. The Cities of Winter- Garden and Ocoee and the Town of Oakland lie at the northern boundary of District 1 and off er both the convenience of a country lifestyle and a wide range of urban amenities. The quiet communities of Tangerine and Zellwood are located in the District’s northwest section. Tangerine is situated along U.S. Highway 441 near the Orange / Lake County line. Zellwood, home of the annual Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival, is south of Tangerine. Orlando’s central business district is located within the District’s western section. Quality and innovation are the hallmarks. In contrast to the fast pace set by the Orlando International Airport, there are ample areas in District Four to the south and east untouched by urban life. The Econlockhatchee and St. John’s Rivers fl ow through the eastern side and wetland/conservation areas are scattered throughout this District. The University of Central Florida & Research Park play a major role in stimulating economic and residential development in the District. Victoria P. Many of our vacationing guests stay at the hotels and motels on International Drive. In addition to lodging accommodations, visitors can walk or ride the I-ride bus system to a variety of exciting restaurants, entertainment, and shops along International Drive.
