As an educator and choral conductor based in Southwestern Ontario, Mishaal has conducted performances and facilitated workshops on music education and the male changing voice for Choral Canada/The Association of Canadian Choral Communities, the Ontario Music Educators’ Association, the University of Western Ontario, the University of Toronto, the Thames Valley District School Board, the Educational Computing Organization of Ontario, and the Ontario Ministry of Education. Mishaal has also been published in the national journal of the Canadian Music Educators’ Association. Mishaal has performed throughout Canada, the United States, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Germany as a member of the Amabile Choirs of London, the Bach Music Festival of Canada Chamber Choir, the Conspirato Chamber Singers, and the Gerald Fagan Singers. Mishaal continues to perform with many local choral ensembles including That Choir, Vocal Fusion, and Chor Amica..

Even though it has been quite unpredictable, we did get a few snowstorms that kept us indoors, happily quilting. I hibernate when it’s that cold. I envy those who migrate (like Rosalie). The Wonky Log-cabin workshop by Mary Catherine Robb was a success. We all completed one block during the meeting. It was challenging to choose the fabric. Thanks to Mary Catherine’s February 2013 1 donated fabric scrap and also fabric donated by Jessie Deslauriers. Peggy brought in her wonky-block quilt top that looked so vibrant with all the fabric. It is interesting how such workshops inspire us to modify our own styles, choosing fabric and colour out of our comfort zones.
